Thanks for the shout out! Ok now i see how you used the old bucket to serve as the qa. I've been keeping an eye but nothing coming up. Did find a place online that sells the qa cap for less then tag but still expensive im my opinion.

So you're cutting the roots going into the field? Hmmm I use my ripper to yank trees out of the ground, snap branches say up to 10" and will be going after field rocks. Mine was made for my Bobcat E85 and is a mix of 3/4 and 1/2 " plates and it fits in between my 4 tang thumb that is also 3/4. So I can pinch metal to metal. The ripper is in a the shape of a crescent moon with a replaceable tooth at the very tip. (I'm not sure I care about that) I think it's 300 lbs so it would smash into the frost go but it will also massacre tree roots. They call it a frost ripper but I don't farm in frost, I hit the road to the high desert climate of NM long before the frost shows up. I am jacked about and excavator on the farm and yes I have tons to do with it too and I am going to enjoy it thoroughly. I might have over done it on the size but the price was right and I won't be hurting it any with over use. I'm afraid it will get the clearing and brushwork done much faster that I thought. I might to look for outside work after a couple of summers.

That's exactly right. The roots kill the grass, so I cut them to regain the hay field. You got a big mini, and that frost ripper sounds badass. I never thought about breaking branches with it, but I'll definitely give that a try. I absolutely love having the mini. It does so much work and makes my life so easy. I like to get a brush cutter for it eventually. But currently saving up for a dump trailer to move it around and start doing side jobs. I wish I had the budget for an 18k machine like you, but the 8k worked better for me because I tow it with a 14k trailer and be under that 26k limit.
