not. The 1st generation Intel has a G1 socket (rpga 988A), and 2-3 generations have a G2 socket (rpga988B). If you have rPGA988 / 989 socket, then install i5-580m / i7-640m.

If you change the processor yourself, then buy a syringe of thermal paste (1-2g, for example GD900, GD007). Wash off the old thermal grease from the Cooling System, install the i7 processor, smear the thermal grease over the entire crystal with a thin layer (0.2mm).
