The valve is filled with glue, you never in its life can not open, even the biggest key what you can find (This is for those who are afraid someone will open the valve)

Shiny is beautiful. Great idea for using brass fittings. I shine all brass in my tumbler using corn cob media and Autosol metal polish. Now . . . off to the plumbing dpartment. Thanks.

Great Lamp, now I know what to do with all my leftover fittings. Sooo Cool. You could use plugs in the 90s so the valve still opens and closes and it will still be stable

Mod suggestions: Use reducer couplings for feet same as the fuel fill fitting, flare down, adds a bit of ballast too. Or, flare out and close nipple and end caps for feet for more chucky look. Big washer same colors and a big wing nut instead of bolt. Cut a fake one out of small thick piece of metal stock (cheap), cut slot in head of bolt and epoxy it in, color up as required, easy.

You can also mix brass with galvanized, polish them on wheel, then protect with clear coat. Looks nice with the mix!

The brass 1” manifold 1/2” x 3 inlets can be bought in anywhere in Greece it’s extremely hard to get in the UK …. Only Maestrini has it and it’s cost about £35 each👀

Just tighten valve stronger and I think that the problem will be solved

nooo that valve is the point there...... but a little hot glue between the valve and the upper connection would solve the thing I guess :) anyway.... nice work ;)

You could use a plug to connect the valve to the base use half the threads for the valve half for the base

The fill cap is higher than the flame, so you can overfill. Other than that awesome....

This looks cool but need to be careful not to over fill the oil reservoir higher than the base of the air line fittings else the oil will poor out the top of those fittings all over your table.

Would using carbon felt rolled up and placed in the tubes with carbon felt wicks connecting the different rolls of carbon felt in each tube section to each wick used to burn then add alcohol or heat rather then oil allow the lamp to be used for lighting and for cooking? Could make an interesting new tool for camping or to have in a bug out bag.

He marred the shit out of the brass manifold because he used channel locks with serrated teeth. You should never use channel locks for anything with parallel surfaces. That is what a wrench is for. Mr so called tool know it all. If you're going to spend $100+ in brass for a crap-punk lantern at least invest in tools that don't damage the end product.

Those are knipex plier wrenches. I have no idea what a better solution is. Those thing are the bomb. Expensive, but soooooo worth it. They are adjustable pliers, and the only ones that work.
