Today we save a few bucks on a more budget-friendly sway bar quick disconnects rather than shelling out cash for the alternatives (JKS, Currie Antirock, etc) as we continue to prep our budget Wrangler for the trail.

I love your solution for keeping the disconnected sway bar out of the way. My last suspension install, the disconnects came with a couple of straps and keeper tabs. The engineers had obviously thrown it in as an afterthought, as one or both straps would always come unhooked from the keeper tab. Oh, and the disconnects were just as difficult to connect/disconnect.

Amazing you found links still intact. Removing old stock ones usually mean destruction in the process. Great vid

They're nearing the end of life, but they'll work for now! Thanks!

Great save. Where there is a will there is a way. I've been going through the 5.2 swap as you suggested. Even though mine is a YJ it's a big help. Thank you Sir. I also today received my AA motor mounts. Wow are they beefy. You would not believe what I took off from the PO. I have no idea how the engine didn't fall out. There was a 408 stroker in it originally. Death Trap +.

LOL, I can only imagine. Nice choice with the AA mounts. I've been very happy with how little vibration is transferred from the engine to the frame through them. I never finished uploading the series, primarily due to lack of viewer interest. If it seems like I missed some info or if you get to the end of what I uploaded and want more info, the list of resources in the first comment of the first video covers most of the places I (and many others) sourced info from during our builds.

Right on. IMO much safer than using clevis pins, which seems to be the other budget alternative.

Switch the direction of the sway bar links 180°. Don’t swap sides left to right, just change the direction it might reduce the angle so you won’t need a hammer
@dironaa
@dironaa 5 жыл бұрын
Once they're hammered on and in place the angle lines up well, it's just geting them started that's the hard part, but thanks for the suggestion!

Pretty much exactly what I did on my TJ, although I just zip tied the links up out of the way when on the trail.

Thanks! That's not a bad price at all, and I bet they are a little easier to operate than the ones I made.

Yeah, it’s not a bad deal, and they size them to go with their budget lift kit, which I did as a shock replacement / upgrade. But yours is cooler, and you did it yourself. Awesome

I would not see the need to bring a hammer on the trail as a downside. I can think of a thousand different things you would need a hammer out in the trail in-case there is a repair. Now if you had to bring a press out on the trail to remove these, then yeah maybe re think it haha. Anyways I love this build. I just bought my first TJ ( Hand many XJ's ) so I have been following this build.

Agreed, I've been that poor schmuck out on the trail having to pound on his jeep with a rock one too many times (long story short my buddy left my hammer on the ground at the trailhead and someone else nabbed it). Thanks for following along!

I have an 06 wrangler and I’m looking to do some off roading I have all stock components aside from my 2 inch lift with 33x12.5what should I upgrade next? Should I get lockers, regear from 3:73s or upgrade the Dana 30 and 35? Your input would be extremely helpful Thanks
@dironaa
@dironaa 4 жыл бұрын
If I were you I would install some type of rock rail for body protection and maybe a winch then find a Jeep club to go wheeling with and figure out what else you'll need after wheeling a few times with the club.

Just the body lift so far. Really hoping I can get away without a suspension lift, but time will tell.

Just interested because I have a 2 in suspension lift and I am getting 33x12.5 and you are just about the only guy on KZfaq that doesn’t either go stock or have a 4 in lift Just nice for perspective
