Making a DIY desktop fountain using plastic bottles is a fun and easy project that can add a calming and relaxing atmosphere to your workspace or home. Here are the steps to make a mini fountain without electricity:
Materials:
- 2 plastic bottles (one small and one larger)
- Small rocks or pebbles
- Water
- Decorative stones or marbles
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pen
- Ruler
Instructions:
1. Take the small plastic bottle and remove the label and cap. Cut off the top part of the bottle using scissors, keeping the bottom part of the bottle.
2. Take the larger plastic bottle and remove the label and cap. Cut off the bottom part of the bottle using scissors, keeping the top part of the bottle.
3. Take the small rocks or pebbles and fill the bottom half of the larger bottle.
4. Take the small plastic bottle and insert it upside down into the rocks or pebbles in the larger bottle. Make sure it is centered and stable.
5. Take the decorative stones or marbles and place them around the small plastic bottle and on top of the rocks or pebbles in the larger bottle.
6. Using a pen and ruler, mark a line around the small plastic bottle, about 1 inch from its top.
7. Cut along the line using scissors to create a small hole in the small plastic bottle.
8. Take the cap of the small plastic bottle and glue it to the bottom of the bottle cap of the larger plastic bottle. Make sure it is centered and stable.
9. Fill the small plastic bottle with water up to the hole that was cut in step 7.
10. Screw the cap of the small plastic bottle back onto the bottle.
11. The water will start to flow out of the hole and flow down the sides of the small plastic bottle and into the rocks or pebbles in the larger bottle.
12. Adjust the flow of water by making the hole bigger or smaller with scissors.
