Step by step guide for creating a tall centerpiece for weddings, banquets, and parties.
Here are the flowers used:
These were all from the supermarket (I bought just about everything they had) so you may just need to see what’s available in your area. I stayed in the yellow, green, and white family as I thought that would highlight the yellow best (her favorite color). Here is what I used:
White Hydrangeas (about 5 stems per arrangement)
Chartreuse/green long stem roses
White Asiatic Lilies
Off-White and yellow spray roses (much more bang for your buck than long stem roses),
Solidago (as fillers),
Chartreuse/Green Mums
Green Berry branches
Yellow Alstroemeria (great fillers and commonly found in most markets)
White and yellow Calla Lillies
Premium greenery including the Eucalyptus leaves that are cascading over the edge.

38 year fellow floral designer here... I must say... AWESOME INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO!!! Although doing this for nearly my whole life...I enjoy watching videos. I always pick up tips and tricks from fellow designers. Sometimes I scratch my head like "good lord...why haven't I thought of that!!" Lol keep up the beautiful work😊

I ran advertised you looking for something out of my norm and thought I always found working at the florist therapeutic even though I only did it for about 2 years. I am a floral designer since I was 14. Learned in Germany and made my masters and having lived over there over here and a few other places I learned a lot over the years. One thing is very important to me. I always cut my flowers with a very sharp knife because those cutter do crush the stems a bit which prevents them from properly soaking up the water. Unless it's a woody stem always cut with a sharp knife. Also on top of a tall vase like this I always use lomey dishes either 6 or 8 inch depending on how big the arrangement ist going to be. In order to have the flowers longer too I spray them with crowning glory.

Just a note that I found to be very true. Don't cut the hydrangea, slice it with a hook knife. You can also scrape off a little of the cell wall about 2 inches from the base. Allows lots of extra water to get up to the flower. Beautiful work!

So sorry I haven't responded to some of your comments. I've been traveling like crazy! Most are asking about securing the top to the base. Most of these were heavy enough that they didn't need anything. For the rest and on less stable tables, I used plumber's puddy. It has a stiff, gum-like consistency. Hope that helps!
