*This battery reconditioning program exceeded my presumptions. It worked on any drill battery, several AA and AAA batteries, **batery.repair** and any camera battery. The steps are simple and the act itself is exciting to do. No matter what type of battery you`ve got, it is sure to function again!*

Thank you for this informative video. Do you know how the power is routed from each cell to main wire down to the inverters?

It would be super interesting to give your cost per average roof done your way (DIY) vs. the Tesla option. Also, can someone replicated their battery collection unit thingy?

Couple points: The glass used in solar modules is NOT just any old. There are special coatings and additives that reduce glare, increasing the radiance passing through the glass and hitting the solar cells. The most efficient azimuth for an array is 180 degrees/due south for the northern hemisphere, or 0 degree/due north for the southern hemisphere. Not east and west. Regardless, really cool project. Props!

Good video - I noticed you used toughened glass. Tesla roof tiles were said by musk to use Quartz glass which is high purity and very tough but is more difficult to work with since it's melting point is higher. but it would last longer. The difference would be apparent when it breaks - toughened glass shatters into thousands of small fragments - while quartz glass will break in larger chunks like a slate tile would only it's way stronger and more difficult to break.

*So they will make a truck... That's good. For some time now I've been figuring "If Tesla really wants to make money, they'll make a viable ( **lovy.biz/44oi** )1/2-ton LUV fleet-truck.". And they plan to make Class-8 semi-tractors & buses as well? Makes me look forward to the first luxury EV motor-home, built with fixed roof-top & retractable solar panels, all powering the EM-induction cook-top, water-heater & washer/clothes-dryer. Add a water collection system with reverse-osmosis treatment & UV-sterilizing, and you'll be set to survive anywhere, anytime!?*

I like this reverse engineering! Simply explained and to the point. Your build stuff is great. I looked at the jet powered bike build simulations, as well as a few other projects, any interest in working at a project level for an exhibit design firm? I don't know how to make this sound not like a sales pitch, and we aren't funded or anything (how much I wish we were), but we are trying to make modular exhibits for science centers to reduce new exhibit costs. We are always looking for tinkerers and people open to mutually beneficial concept builds. idk if that makes any sense or if you have any interest, but I really did enjoy the build either way.

Wow, great, thank you. Your probably way ahead of me but suggest you consider developing your own or working with a major company to develop and sell competing panels. Alternatively you could sell DIY kits to the public that contain everything for a roof. Thanks again.

Very cool and informative. But the Teslarati article said you 'trimmed' the tempered glass. How does one trim tempered glass without it exploding? Or did they article get it wrong?
@NiteTrain345
@NiteTrain345 7 жыл бұрын
I do not know if you can trim tempered glass but there is mostly likely a fancy machine that can apply pressure to both sides equally while some kind of CNC drill bit cuts the glass.

A water jet can pretty much cut through anything without damaging the product. This could be the way they are trimmed/shaped.

no problem you only need to leave at 37 degree latitude north or south it does'nt matter, like for any solar roof.

It is a very good explanation, but I would like to see how it is that you assemble everything on a roof, and how you verify that it does not leak water. Is that possible? Regards

With out the PC privacy screen this can roughly cost you 20,000 dollors if you have 2,000 panels because the average price for one with out the extra screen is roughly 10$ R.I.P cheap money

Knowing the cost of one tile would be enough to figure out the cost. Although I am quite sure when you factor in the shipping fees and time cost this DIY would be more expensive.
