@@1620GarageAndFarm I ordered one from the link you left below. There was someone that ran into the trouble of putting one of these in. They had maintenance light and check engine light, etc come on. Did any of that happen to you? They also had a 2019 trd pro as well.

I have the 2020 pro and eve since Toyota went to keyless start all sorts weird things happen when i install aftermarket accessories. Definitely like that unit though for sure!!

I was considering swapping my 2019 to the keyless start. Still loving this screen. It does get a little wonky sometimes. But the positives far our weight the negatives. Thanks for subbing my channel. I will try and release more garage stuff soon.

I'm glad your unit worked out for you. I got the EXACT same unit a week ago, however, my truck is the 2019 "1794" edition which has some differences. First, it has heated/AC seats and the screen was for a different series truck that doesn't have heated seats. Bluetooth would NOT work nor would any of the apps that I like . Waze and XM radio downloaded but would not function, so it went back in the box yesterday and I sent it back. You may find as the driver that you spend longer to access controls than the factory unit. I can change the temperature on the display of the original without even looking at the unit. Each little ratchet, up or down, changes the display 1 degree. Anyway, it didn't work for me.

I know, most of the other Toyota cars have WAY better infotainment systems. But the Tundra has gotten no love... I think the 2020 did get apple car play.

Still running it, no big issues, no rattles or anything .. once in a while the blue tooth link can be wonky. But a reboot fixes it.

I Small question, when I look at the product on Amazon it says the original rear camera does not work with the radio, did you have to buy a new camera or an adapter ? thank you

Works fine with the factory camera. Plugged right in no issue.

I have a 1794 that comes with fans in the seats. Does this unit allow you to still control that ? Also I have an after market stereo system. Does it allow you to control all of levels ? Bass/mids/ highs ?

Hey thanks for checking it out. I think it does support the fans. And you can totally control the bass/mid/treb and highs lows. It has a nice EQ built in. Its been more than a year and I still love this unit !! Going to be adding the wireless charging tray soon to the console. I will drop a video on that as well.

Keeping the OEM reverse camera functionality was the break deal on this. I have a Tundra SR which doesnt have many bells and whistles but I just want a plug and play unit and not have to run extra wires or hardware to replace OEM stuff. Any changce you hear they might add this to their features? I am in IT and I think I could have fun with this radio for sure

This using the factory backup camera. Works perfectly fine. All plug and play.

Awesome, going to get one now. You mention jail break your iPhone. Do you think I would be able to use the “dish” app while driving for my kids to watch a movie or a live football game?

@1620 Garage. I am a member of the fb group, and I have already contacted Sergey, so I have done a little homework there. I am getting ready to order one, and I know some people say the rear camera works like yourself, and some say it doesn’t. - Do you know if it will plug and play for the camera in my 2014 1794? - you mention you live in Boston And no problems with cold weather yet, is that still true? I live in Wisconsin, so that’s a concern. - in your link, there is a 64g option and a 32g option - which did you buy and why? - Does the voice command work on the steering wheel? I'm also curious how it works in HOT / COLD weather. There are some models that won't work under 55F. That's the biggest concern. Also, how's the sound? The original radio sounds pretty nice. For nearly $1000 I would expect it to work at least similar to the factory. Oh, does it support Android Auto?

@@adytexas The sound is just as good as factory. As for temps, I live in new england just out side Boston. We have temps well below zero, and as hot as 100 degrees in the summer. I have had this screen almost 3 years and no issues. And yes it supports carplay and andriod auto

I have a 2019 TRD PRO as well & I installed the unit but I couldn’t find where the GPS plug connected to. I ended up using their antena. 5 mins after installing the head unit my check engine light and trailer brake error & pre collision malfunction messages came on. I reached out to the seller but they were no help! So did you experience that? & if so how did you fix it?

I have seen a few guys report this. I did not have the issue. But if you search the form / facebook groups you will find you need to cut one wire and it will fix everything.

when you installed this did you lose the nav guide in the instrument panel display along with the audio display?

Yes, on nav / radio on the heads up display. I will be honest. I don’t miss it at all. But love this display. I will film a follow up video soon seeing I have had it installed just about 4 months.

How does it work with OEM mic? I read OEM mic doesn't play well with AM android unit, especially for the receiving end. If true, what did you do to make it work? Adapter, new mic...?

I’m having an issue with abs lights coming on due to the factory gps signal not being connected, did the maestro adapter solve this?

Not sure, I did not have that issue with mine. I did have an issue with the trailer brake. But after talking with support ut was a simple fix unplugging a single wire.

I have not tried the XM radio on this unit. I will have to see of android has an app for it. Or I could just run it using apple car play. both GPS and blue tooth work fine. I need to release my updated review soon. It does act a little wonky trying to connect when you use the remote start on the truck. Pretty much it does not pick up the blue tooth because you are to far away. But a simple toggle on and off from my iphone for blue tooth and it reconnects fine.

i got few questions: 1.- with the maestro will work the strering wheels functions? or i need other maestro? for the acc and heater seat works? can i install after market speakers, amp and subs and works with this radio?

Hi Carlos. The maestro is only used to connect the factory gps. You really don’t even need it as the GPS receiver that comes with the radio is very small and easy to mount under the speaker cover ontop of the dash. All the factory functionality works with the truck, seats, steering controls ect. And yes you could add an aftermarket amp if you wanted too.

How do you control the volume? There’s no knob. The previous unit had many problems with Bluetooth and sound quality on calls. Has this been resolved? Overall would you recommend this unit? I’m considering purchasing one for my 15 1794. Thanks

I have had mine a year. And I would give it a solid B .. it does have some wonky issues once in a while and it will require a reboot. But compared to the factory radio this is like 100x better. Wireless CarPlay is very nice. And the sound quality has been fine

I noticed it didn't show the heated/ cooled seat option on the screen. Is it because to model you have doesn't have that option or its the software?

Mine does not have that option its the TRD pro. It will support that in the Platinum model. You just need to set the unit on Tundra "High"

Did you lose the bottom panel that houses the USB & 12 volt charging ports? Also don’t see a link for 3rd party firmware?

I work in IT and I'm.a gearhead. The last thing I want is to be fiddling with technology in my car rather than driving it. What happens when that unit has a problem? Instead of losing your radio and bluetooth functions, you lose all climate control.

I also work in IT. And trust me I was skeptical. It’s been 6 months and it’s worked really well. And to be honest I could have the stock radio installed back in about 5 minutes. But so far I’m still loving this x100 than the stock unit. Even one that gets in my truck is like WOW that looks amazing and looks factory.

Easier to install than you think. For the 2019 and 2020 you just need to leave 1 wire disconnect from the canbus and everything works fine.

@@teller121 all of my steering controls work fine. Rear camera also works fine. XM is not working. But I use pandora and Spotify. Running the factory speakers. I have had this now about 7 months and still love it. I was worried about the cold weather. But the last two weeks have been brutally cold here in the Boston area and the screen has been fine. I al planning a follow up review soon. Couple of small quirky things I don’t like. But nothing that would stop be from purchasing again. One that drives nuts is the remote start and blue tooth connect. It will not auto connect the blue tooth if you use a remote starter unless you are close to the truck. Only work around is to turn blue tooth on and off on my iPhone and it reconnects.

Quick question. After installing this, what happens when you press the voice command button on the steering wheel? You know, "call dad" or "tune to 101.3 fm"?

Funny you ask. I never tried it. lol the volume up / down and Channel up / down work fine from the wheel. I’m sure voice active button does as well. I will try it over the weekend.

Very minor stuff. I had an issue with blue tooth dropping. But it was a software update. It's coming up on one year and I still love it.

Looks great. I just swapped out my head unit and speakers in my 2020 Tundra. Toyota infotainment is utter garbage. Even their premium systems.

Thats a fact... Sad that the 2019 did not have carplay or android auto. The infotainment system in the Tundra line has struggled for a long time. It looks like the 2022 could be better.

It’s the air bag indicator for the passenger seat. Not a button just a light. But it does look like a button.

Hi Chris, yes I have had the unit just about 2 years now. It’s worked great. My biggest complaint is the remote start. When I use the remote start the Bluetooth does not want to connect be cause my phone is to far away. The quick fix is to toggle blue tooth on and off (on my phone) when I jump into the truck.

I am interested in adding this to my Tundra and the only thing holding me back is I've read that during calls the other callers have a hard time hearing the person in the truck. Do you have this issue with yours?

Yes its a legit radio, I have had mine for 2 years. I should do a follow up video. Its been great for me. Others have reported some issues. But I think its like anything else you need to do some home work. I used the raidio 90% of the time running apple car play.

Yes. Highly recommend jumping on the PX groups along with the Tesla Tundra group. Not a hard install. I have had mine over 6 months now and still love it.

@@artriveros7659 I will be honestly I really like it a lot. The only wonky behavior is when I issue my remote start on the truck. And that’s just getting apple car play to connect. And a simple toggle odd and on for the Bluetooth fixes it. I will do an updated video soon showing pros and cons. The pros beat the cons ;)
