Apply petroleum jelly on the glass before the whole process. That will make the melted glue peel off easily. You can also peel it off before glamming it up to avoid the gems from falling off. For starters, you can draw or print a pattern and put it inside the glass bowl.

Instead of prying it off, if you let it cool completely then pop it in the freezer for 30 minutes it will slide off easily.

Spraying the surface with cooking oil first also helps the glue to come off.

Thank you for this exquisite tutorial.There is a craft product out there called Diamond Dust. I coated this crown with clear glue and sprinkled with the Diamond Dust and it made this beautiful crown sparkle like ice fog does on trees on a winter morning!

The easier way is to take some plastic or wire headband,and glue onto it,also,if you do use glass bowl,rub some oil onto it,to it would be easier to peel off the tiara,you can even use some see-through hard celofane so it will make it harder,and not so soft ;)

a little tip: when you give warm or hot water in the bowl, then it is easier to solve the glue

a little tip to remove glue from glass or any surface! drop some alcohol drops on surface and magic will happen

Just a friendly warning and bit f advice; Unless your going to keep it upside down and wear it as a neck piece, I wouldn't recommend chain, it can get tangled/snagged in hair to easily. I recommend ribbon or even clear thread/fishing line, maybe a headband that matches your hair or wig color if you want it to be extra stable!

You can use a non stick cooking spray on the glass to allow for easier removal.

You can actually just spray alcohol close to the bass. Alcohol removes hot glue so easy!

If you put Vaseline on the glass before the glue it will prevent the glue from sticking to the glass and braking

Glue would un-stick easier if you would spray it or soaked it a little bit with rubbing alcohol.

Is a silicone gun different than a hot glue gun? and have you tried doing this with the bowl greased or lubricated to help the crown release? would it still work if you did that?

I dunno, it looks a bit cheap and doesn't look completely convincing as "ice", as there are some stringy bits of glue coming out everywhere, as you can see in the end image. I'd also be concerned about the structural integrity of the glue. It's not completely solid when cooled/hardened, it's more like a soft plastic or silicone. I can already see some of the "icicles" bending or drooping from gravity on the mannequin head, and I'm sure it would only get worse with time. Plus, it's not the most hardy of materials, so if you accidentally bump it, I'm sure an "icicle" on the crown would come off.

***** I knew one of these comments would come up... It's not hateful, it's criticism. You don't have to be a director or actor to criticize movies. You don't have to have drawing ability to criticize art. You don't have to sing or play an instrument to criticize a song, etc, etc. While the crown looks good considering the materials used, it's not be best it could be, and it doesn't look durable. With this information, they can find a better technique, use different materials, and just all around improve. Humanity would just stagnate and never advance if no one ever said what another person is doing isn't perfect.

To make it easier to release from the bowl ....put some baby oil on a paper towel and wipe it on very very thinly then proceed

Should have used something else as the back piece. Most women are not bald, so that chain back piece is going to get tangled in your hair. And it will also pain when unhooking it.

What is you don't have a goads bowl like this ? I'd pain it silver spray paint or something, cuz looks do generic cheap. Don't like your gun look. Lol 3 points the middle & side ones beside it side to side of the middle got broke off. You need to fix it add make a point. Hope it can be done. Lol Where to get the chain ? I wonder if major Craft store here I could by showing this video. Maybe the stones small pack not have to spend allot, cuz poor & only spend in stuff I need mostly. Not often on crafts,etc.
