In this video.. We built a block tile coffee table! As most of us, I found this DYI on Tik Tok and was immediately sucked in! We didn't want to build it from scratch so we started with a basic offer up table as the foundation. I think this saved a ton of time and even more room for mistakes, not to mention it was free! As you could see in the video I ran into a couple of difficulties I wish I didn't and could have made my table a lot better and easier to create but luckily I made those mistakes for you! This is the cutest aesthetically pleasing table, perfect for all the vibes. See below for my list of supplies and instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions!! xx best of luck!
Supply/Tool List:
- Table as foundation
- Plywood according to the measurements of your foundation table
-Nails
-Hammer
-Tiles (1x1) any color desired
-Tile Adhesive
-Float
-Float with notches
-Unsanded Grout (any color desired)
-Sponge/ Fiber towels
-Brush and tile/grout water seal
Instructions:
-Find Table on offer up!
-Get measurements of table for your plywood
-Purchase all necessary supplies and tools
-Nail plywood to all sides of the table using nails
-Spray paint tile as needed
-Cut the tiles out of the grid
-Apply tile adhesive on to table
-Using a notched tool add waves to the adhesive
-Apply tiles properly spaced out (use spacers if possible)
-Clean out any excess adhesive as soon as possible before it gets hard
-Add a healthy amount of grout on all side, maybe start with one. Using a float make sure all cracks are filled in.
-I put on some gloves and went through the cracks to smooth them all out. -After 24hrs we used a damp sponge towel but I recommend A sponge to clean off the excess grout!
-add water seal and voila!
-Enjoy!!!!
