Yeah, the difference with this one versus most other ones is this one has some application... If you can't buy chain. The welding is beginning to really bug me though. It's MIG, it is not that hard to just run a damn bead.

There is a particular type of chain used for opening and closing my garage doors which are from a hundred-year-old house. They don't make this type of chain anymore, would love to see if you could come up with a way to make a jig to make this chain. The chain link is basically a large flat bottomed U, with perpendicular eyelets at the end to hook into the next link. One of the teens broke on one of my doors, and only completely replacing the entire mechanism is an option since through not able to buy a chain or something similar, to replace it.

I’d buy a chain break before I bought a drill press, welders etc. which you could do it without those tools but why waste your time for a 250 dollar tool
