If you covered the glitter in soap (liquid dish soap works best) it would become less hydrophobic and mix more with the water. Just a tip for next time. Great job though.

If you wanted to get the glitter to mix with the water, add a little bit of dish soap and see if loosening the surface tension of the water helps it sink. Maybe that would work? Please try it!

What happens if you add some soap into the water in the bottles? Maybe the vortex collapses a little because the surface tension of the water dissappears. With the soap in it maybe the glitter mixes up better too... Sorry for my english, i'm from switzerland...

Unless the wires are superconductors, nothing major happens. Their resistance might go down a little, and they get a bit stiff, any plastic insulation they're covered in will probably crack. That's basically it.

Try putting a little bit of dish soap in the glitter water to help break the surface tension of the water so the glitter doesn’t float on the surface of the water.
