Usually the pigtails connected to the coils break so i just unscrew the 10mm on the coil and remove as one piece. Also if u don't have a compressor u could use "canned air"...yes that's a real thing. The magnetic spark plug socket is worth a lot more than what it cost! And when threading the new plugs in go slow and feel the plug going in straight without snagging or wiggling. Good vid.

That's about as clean a 8+ year old engine compartment as I've seen. Good job sir!

Thanks for making this video, at first I always go to the dealer to get my tundra service correctly. But sometimes I think that I could do myself and save some money. After watching this video and got everything that I needed, and did myself.

Jose thanks for the video. It helped allot. I talked to the Toyota Service Department yesterday in Southern Oregon (Grants Pass) and they wanted $250.00 to change the plugs in my 2003 Tundra. I called the Parts Department at the same dealer and the plugs were less than $22.00. I'll change them myself. Thanks again you rock.

Tips from an old mechanic: (1) Do this on a cold engine to protect threads on aluminum head (2) Use Anti-Seize compound on new plug threads and silicone lube on rubber plug boots

Not true. NGK, Autolite, Champion, Bosch, Denso, AC Delco, will all tell you not to use anti-seize with their modern coated spark plugs.

Thanks for the video perfectly explained thank you for the video. It was fun changing them out I have an 8 cylinder 5.7 tundra and had not changed the plugs in about 100 and 150,000 miles ago dealer wanted $369.00 and it was so easy I did it in under 1hour 15 mins. I used the NGK Iridium 6699. I paid once before in 2014 to get them swapped. 👍

I bought Toyota factory plugs for my Tundra. The gap was all over the place. Some were only.026. The widest gap in the lot was.040. They were supposed to be pre gapped. Always check.

Also suggested to replace the plugs with spark plugs. Use anti seize compound on each plug. Check (electronically) each coil to make sure that is not an issue.

I could only imagine. I no longer have this truck , now i have a Tacoma 2018. It's impossible to do work in side the engine compartment manufacture are putting so much of pollution control gadgets that you are forced to take it back to the dealers. Thanks for Watching
