DIY Ultra Low Power Soil Moisture Monitor with an ESP32 using Arduino IDE

I was looking for a solution for measuring the moisture content of the plants soil in our house, however I wanted something battery powered and simple. A low power design would have to be though up from the start. Everything would be built around the lilygo T5 epaper display using the GXEPD2 library.

Can’t wait to watch the second part! :) I usually just lift my planters to determine how light or heavy they are or monitor the leaves and water accordingly. (But I’ve been gardening for a while so that’s easier) This was enjoyable to watch even if I’m never going to create one. 😅

The second one is more heave on the cad and 3d printing of the case than the programming.

They look nice. But plants require maintenance, cost money, collect dust, and therefore poor for air quality. The nasa study showing improved air quality only applies to sealed space craft.
