very helpful, thank you! I like to learn how to DIY (less expensive! ;) ) but prefer to know its limits and pluses so I know what to expect and that its not just me messing it up. Ha!

Thank you! I have not been on lately. I had a pretty busy end of my school year. I should have more content up in two weeks.

I tried using wide scotch magic invisible tape which is more of a mat finish on tissue paper and I liked it. Then I ran the sheet thru my xyron sticker maker before cutting into strips. What’s nice about it is, I leave it as a sheet and then cut it to the width I want (up to the width of the tape strip) when I go to use it. I had some 2” which is almost gone now and can’t seem to find more, but the 1” is easy to find. I heard running the sheet through the die cutter after helps bond the adhesives together and it will be smoother and more transparent but I haven’t tried that yet. I want to play with the napkins next as well as your ideas about the masking tape (have loads of that!) and inking. Thanks for a great video! Just what I was looking for.

Thank you! I am a public school teacher and that really holds me back from making videos. Teaching middle school dominates my time. But, I am doing a show in June. I have LOTS of work to do in the studio and plan on having my iPad set up and recording the entire time.

I tried the double sided tape from the dollar store but it's cheaper when you evaluate how much more you get for 2.97 at Walmart. They also sell it in the hardware department at the dollar store but I haven't tried that one. Also found some in grab bags at the local thrift store.

This is an excellent comparison of the different techniques - thank you. You could use Magic tape instead of Packing tape to create the paper rub-off stickers/tape. That would give a satin effect. Or I wonder if you could just paint on some Matte medium over the gloss tape to tone down the gloss 🤔

I saw an artist place matte medium on her glossy tape; looked good! 😊

Can u tell me where to get the paper tape...What the brand is etc plz, i want the see thru , thanx
@allisonjames2923 Жыл бұрын
Hope you’ve found an answer by now, but it’s just called “hypoallergenic tape” or “paper medical tape”. It’s not the same as the mesh style one used for fake eyelashes though, so just watch out for that - you should be able to get it at any pharmacy or general shop where first aid items are sold, or online (I bought some from Ali Express cheaply. It tends to always be white, whereas the mesh version seems to often be blue or pink. And you can buy it in 2.5cm width or 5cm width (or whatever your equivalent measurement system is).

I bought mine at the 99cent store--but now costs more than that. Wish I'd bought more. This (needless)inflation we're living under stinks!

Got some at the Shoprite here in NJ but since saw it in the dollar store and I had some from the hospital too. Don’t know how well the dollars store one works but I may get some and try it. The supermarket one was not cheap which defeats the purpose of avoiding buying expensive washi tape, but when I bought it I needed it for a bad cut I had to keep covered.
