HERE IS MY REVIEW OF THE SEIKO NH35: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pNKqdZqKmMWzaZ8.html
@treelineresearch33875 ай бұрын
I built my first watch from a NH36 and random eBay parts around a month ago and already have more parts in flight to build a couple more. Eventually want to make some custom dials, there's a lot of fun crossover opportunities with the wood/metal/resin hobby stuff I've done for years, and a wearable product is a bonus.

When your voiceover dropped out I thought I was having audio issues on my laptop 🤣🤣

Beautiful build and awesome production as always. The build give me real "War Correspondent" vibes

Not sure if others feel similarly, but I find the lack of any sound over the build really weird. If you were to impose the audio from the first section over top the latter part, with maybe a note or two about what you were doing at any given time (not a lot, just a sentence or two between periods of silence) and just skipped the section at the top, you'd have a really cool video. I say this acknowledging that you could have specific reasons for not just doing a voiceover.

Good point, thank you for your perspective!

@@SillyVintageWatchesI appreciate that you did this by buying the parts. The Seiko logo on the dial was hidden in the pictures and description because some buyers want this, but it is trademark infringement so they hide this. Next time maybe it would help to ask privately in a message if the dial is "sterile"

I see no problems there.

I made one too. Same process as yourslf. Starting with ordering the NH36 movement. I opted for a stainless steel diver's watch syle case with rotating bezel, matt black dial with black calendar wheel and luminous orange dial markings with matching lumed orange hands. It looked amazing. I proudly showed it off for the first time in the pub. I took it off to hand it to someone who wanted a closer look. The bezel came off while he rotated it and he just looked at me in horror before bursting out laughing. Anyway... I ordered another case but the stem was slightly too short to fit the new case. Another stem ordered for £25 (the total price of the home-made watch was becoming a bit expensive) I filed the new stem too short because the date wheel was acting weird. It sits in a small box waiting for a new stem 2 years later.

Thanks for showing the basics of making a watch. Perhaps tips for good measurements: dial, stem and so on. 😊

put links where you found all the parts, please 😊

@silly Vintage Watches. Do you mind providing links to the case and dial at a minimum, or at lease which seller you sourced them from?

Great build! I really love the parts you chose, the end design is superb. Can you add a link to all the parts in the video description?

Thanks. I'm about to do my first custom build. The NH34 I bought came with a small cupped washer. Is that supposed to go between the dial and the movement? Was wondering why you didn't have that washer and whether it's necessary?

I love the military style aspect of this gmt. I feel inspired! How does the lume on that dial compare to lumibright or c3?

Great little build. you will have a better time setting the crown if you use a par of calipers. you almost had it with the blue marks, but you can take the guess work out with a little measurement ;)

@sillyvintagewatches 16:27 I purchased a HruodlanD second hand with the nh34 and as I unscrew the crown it appears to be in the date/gmt setting mode so the date changes ccw and the gmt hour in the cw direction… once the spring loaded crown pops out of the treads it is in the correct neutral position to wind. When I press the crown in to screw it doesn’t show that problem. Only as I unscrew it. Would I need to shorten the stem or lengthen it?

Very nice I love the 24 hours around the outer ring. Are there any Seikos or other watches you are aware of that have that? I haven’t seen any.

Thank You! Unfortunately, I don't really know any watches in that price range, let's say, up to $600 that have that feature. The closest I can think of is the Seiko SSK023K1

Saw your video and i have a question - if i may. Sadly, I find myself only liking watches that are very expensive. But I don't care about the name, so my question is : Is it possible to have someone (not me!) make a watch from scratch by buying the parts to make my dream watch? Is this possible?

Can you please send link for the parts thanks

Nice work, I also really like it aesthetically, only two things I don't understand, the first why pay the cost of just the GMT hand as much as the cost of a complete kit of 4 pieces, in my opinion it was not a convenient choice to take two with separate hands, the second one I don't like the way you use to cut the excess part of the crown stem, you have to use a caliper it's much easier to measure from the edge of the case to the edge of the crown, considering that the part that screws is included in this space. for the rest nothing to complain about, excellent work.

where can i cat the dial?
@milanioom5 ай бұрын
Appreciate the video, but it's not very informative. The sizing of the stem is easily the hardest part of the assembly and there was no input on the proper way of conduct. Furthermore, there were no part links in the video description for someone who would partake in the assembly process.

That 'Feiko' dial is awful. My idea for a future video is to change it for either a sterile dial or a real Seiko dial
