Nice homemade metal brake! We do what we have to and use the tools we have and we have to be resourceful and work a little harder sometimes. This video shows that. It's inspiring as heck! The shorty is coming along really nicely.

Hi, Without talking it is even more clear, that converting a bus isn't a nice stroll but hard work. 👍🏻 (Oh no... now I imagine you walking in and around the bus and mumble like Bob Ross: ... a little metal here....give it a screw friend...just a bit of grey...nice littlle hammer...😂😂😂)

Great Idea for a video! Showing people start to finish of a project and how long it takes, all the steps, and how you go through the process. And doing it in a reasonable amount of time to show people it is possible! I also love how you made your own break, we had so much trouble bending the edges of our metal for our storage boxes!

Mike I'm 60 I bought a bus 2 years ago but of course I'm on a fix income so it's a slow going for me but at the same time I've put brakes around the bus and you know that's a good amount of $$ know matter if you do the work (parts) but hopefully one I'll run into you and thank you in person so that being said please keep the how to videos coming, showing how to !!

I'm working on my bus as well, I just installed my RV front door today. It'll take me another day to finish it all the screws and stuff. Another 2 weeks and I should be ready to paint the outside. Prep work is a booger. I still have to install a salvage find, it's a 70 gal diesel tank means I'll have about 105 total capacity ...and it's stainless steel. It's too rough to polish so I'll have to paint it. Trying to keep pace with you young bucks. My bus is a 2001, 3800 International. Thanks for the motivation. Love these videos they tell it like it is.

Great video I recently purchased a 4 window bus for a family vacation from pa to South Carolina. I must say I'm in love with my short bus. I did blow my turbo climbing the mountains in Virginia on the way home ( one day set back changed it myself and drove it home ) now all I keep thinking about is what to do to it. I just removed the seats. I want to delete 2 window and I really like your video with the rub rails gone. I'm not looking to make a camper I got one of them just a family road trip bus. Anyway looking forward to your next video

Hey! Really helpful video. Some questions: how thick is the sheet metal you are using? And what is the stuff in the spray can you're applying after the patch? And what kind of caulk did you use? And lastly, what kept you from trying to weld the holes in the roof (would you advise against it?). Woops, that was a lot of questions. Thank you!

@SaturnGeminiLove 4 жыл бұрын
Really enjoyed the video. I, personally, prefer the style of your other videos where you talk and explain to us in better detail what is going on (I learn better that way). Still really loved the video. 1 question though. For the window deletes, is it only necessary to delete them from the inside and not the outside? What I mean is that you put the metal on the inside to make everything flush like a wall but the outside still has the “divot” where the window was. Are you going to fill in that divot with another piece of metal to make it flush on the outside or leave it as is?
@navigationnowhere
@navigationnowhere 4 жыл бұрын
You can do it either way. You can plate it from the outside ( kind of like a roof raise style) but, I was going for the “deleted” look where you can still see the window shape

@@navigationnowhere I'm curious behind your reasoning behind sealing one hole up in the cab roof already when you can just cut a 14×14 in existing hole for a max fan ? You just want to relocate the fan?

Yes, the fan will be centered in the roof over the kitchen. Neither of the existing patches are in the right spot.
