DIY WRAP DRESS - Bridesmaid dress from scratch

Hi everyone,
It's Jess here again. Welcome or welcome back to my channel.
In this tutorial, I'm sharing with you how I made the wrap dress as the bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding.
This's a very nice bridesmaid dress. It's also easy to fit to all body types.
To make this dress, check out some of my basic information for this DIY:
- Sewing machine: Merrit Joyful Sewing
- Material: Silk in green/yellow color. I used around 2.5m for each dress
- My body measurement: 82-64-92 (Small size). I'm 165cm
I've tried to explain the way I got my measurement. So you can apply and adjust it for your body size. Hope it's helpful for you. You can use other fabric for different occasions as well.

Such a pretty dress!! I might make it for myself but I'm a bit intimidated of sewing silky or satin fabrics 😅

You could use any fabric you like for a wrap dress if your not too keen on sewing with silky fabrics. I’m not a fan either but using tissue paper under help stabilise it stops it slipping around so much if you wanted to use silk

Also, you can totally make this with a knit fabric if you're more comfortable with that!

So beautiful Jess 😍! The emerald color, the design, the courage to sew such a delicate and slippery material... The stitches on the edges, especially on the circle of the skirt are seriously just a work of art, so even😯! Even my favourite silk dress (from seamstress with over 20 years of experience) doesn't have them this perfect! Congrats! What kind of tread did you use, a natural or syntetic one?

Thank you so much for this pattern! I have a few questions that might be helpful for other people who are hoping to make this pattern! 1. Is the belly measurement the same as waist? 2. When you measure to the belly button, is that supposed to be exactly to the belly button or to the true waist where the dress is going to be tied? 3. I am a bit lost where you cut the skirt. You draw the dotted line across the first half of the folded fabric but do you cut through both layers of the folded fabric? Thank you so much I can't wait to make the dress!

Yes, you should make more pleated. But don't make too much as it would make the neck area too loose

first of all, i LOVE this tutorial and i already ordered some fabrics online to make it! I just have a slight problem with the back pattern, for the length, you stated that the length of the rectangle is from the upper breast to belly button, but it is only 12cm. Do you mean from lower breast to belly button? Anyhow, thanks for this amazing tutorial!!

Very nice dress but is a little bit difficult to understand your accent. Please don't take this the wrong way, I don't mean to be mean at all but maybe if you could put subtitles would be better for others who doesn't speak English

Yes, it's okay. I know my English is not that good with my ascent too. I've added the English subtitle for whom who don't understand :)
