WARNING - She needs to add some additional info to this video. 1. Put something between the bowl and the clay so the clay doesn't stick. 2. Amaco is real clay so it shrinks as it drys. If you wrap it around something that prevents it from drying, it's going to seriously crack. I'm guessing hers was fine since it wasn't that high up the sides. 3. And before you add clay to clay, it needs to be scored and slipped. That's when you scratch hatch marks into one piece of the clay that covers the areas where you're going to add the additional piece, then you add some slurry (which is a slippery clay and water mixture), and then you add the other piece. This ensures the piece you add doesn't fall off. Definitely look up how to do it.

I am actually going to be making a couple of these for Christmas presents and that’s how I found your video. TFS this helped me a lot. I am however going to use some flower and bird mounds and I’m going to put them on the outside when they are still a bit soft so that I can make them fit the shape of the bowls and then paint them after. Hopefully it will work out like I plan. I was also thinking of putting some large wood beads on the bottoms for feet.

Hey! Just wanted to know if ot came off the light fixture or if I should put cling wrap down first? I'd rather not have the marks from the cling film but I cant have it stuck to another bowl

Oh, I put a plastic bag between my bowl and the container I am using as a mold. I don’t know yet if that was a good idea?

How sticky is this clay? I was just working with Crayola Air Dry Clay and it was so sticky I could hardly get it into a shape. Plus it stuck to my silicone mat. Thanks!

I don't like this clay. It dries like chalk and breaks like it. I use DAS.
