i know this isnt a detailed reply but they like used ropes and little rubber tubes and glued the ropes to the tips of the cardboard fingers and put the ropes into the tube then tied each rope abit to make a holding thing and for it to like grab things they folded the cardboard then unfolded it to do the grasping (sorry if i couldnt help)
