I learned years ago during an insurance fraud investigation, the whole vehicle will be search. Lack of ANY personal effects either up front or back in the trunk, is a strong indicator that the owners cleaned everything out before the fire. The incident I'm referring to, the insurance company and the finance company that held the lean prosecuted the young man. He got a couple years in a federal prison. The previous owner of your car isn't going to step forward and say he did it.

What transmission and transfercase? NAG1 + 44-40 transfercase or V6 8HP45 build to handle 1200hp + 44-40 trasfercase? Not sure if can bolt 44-40 behind RWD 8HP90.

Seems like retracing your steps. Maybe get back to the incremental build progress that brought most of us here in the first place. This would be a good car to start that with. Why start a new build when you’ve got the Audi’s, the bronco, etc that I haven’t seen an update on in what feels like a year.

If the fire started under the hood then it could have traveled through a break in the windshield up high on the headliner and then progressed downward through the interior. The firewall would have suppressed most of the fire until it got hot enough on the inside to ignite behind the dash so if there was a break in the windshield or it just melted then the headliner would go first. It just looks like they destroyed the trans, slid and bumped into something and that other something caught fire first. I say that because it looks like the fire progressed from the very front, to the engine and then back into the interior.
