I generally leave my shop vac on with hose left inside top door while I clean stove. That way any loose dust goes into shop vac and not up my nose. It also allows me to to unplug electicity to stove. Your video is spot on and very informative. Thanks.

Great video I am watching while I am trying to fix the circuit board on my air conditioner. It has been so long since I have used a heater or fireplace I think it was sometime in the 1980's. The gas heater is still in the hallway though. Guess those pellet stoves do not get creosote buildup like the old pot belly stoves did.

The pellets burn up to dust. I only have to dump my ash’s after I burn one ton of pellets. Hope you have a good new year

Just thought I’d add something when I close my pellet stove up for the summer. I usually fill it with kitty litter to absorb the moisture. I don’t know if anybody’s tried that I’ve had my stove since 2014.

@@DIYJIM I have my pellet stove in the basement so it tends to be very damp in the summertime. What I used to do was just put a fan on the inside of the stove all summer long and then I came up with kitty litter three years ago, and so far it seems to work really well. I came to your channel because my light was blinking six times. So I watched your cleaning video, and when I would clean the inside out, I would always have my shop hose inside the stove to suck up all the dust when I was cleaning it. Turning on the exhaust what a clever idea so thank you for that. I figured out why it was blinking six times the door where the clasp locks it. The metal was bent outward so I had to slam it back in so it was straight. I think that’s where the error code was coming from. the stove would initially light up, fill the pot burn out and then it wouldn’t restart again-just that little bit of air Made that much difference. I’ve been very happy with my Harmon pellet stove I’ve had no service calls, “knock on wood“ since it was installed in 2014. I appreciate your channel 😉 so thank you for that!

Very similar to what I do on p43 you had mentioned that your glass gets dirty quick , have you ever checked your draft with a meter to see if it's in the range harmon recommend, my p43 glass takes around 2 weeks start getting fairly dirty. I burn turman my feed rate is about 3.25 makes a temp of 410 degrees, I don't know if helps you or not. Happy New Year. Thanks for your informative videos

I don’t plan on buying a wood stove. I think if I were to buy something new it would be a rice coal stove.
