It seems like a lot of people don't have a clue about the incredible amount of work required in making one of those mashup. I myself make music mix and I can vouch for the talent and the crazy amount of hours that one has to put into this kind of creation. My respect Mister Earworm 😊

I don't feel like this went anywhere. It just seemed like the same thing over and over for 4 mins. Which I understand is most pop music anyway, but I feel like it was just throwing all the songs together for the sake of it. 2009 is still my favorite mash-up.

I agree, not much progression nor mood "shifts". The Shape of You beat is really the same exact sounds on a loop. The great thing about 2009 was it was built on Black Eyed Peas' "I Got a Feeling" beat which is a more happy joyful beat. And a dozen songs in same or similar keys, and many revolving around the word "down". All which made everything blend and mesh with each other so perfectly. Idk this is still cool tho, shout out DJ Earworm cause this is a big project, this still takes an incredible amount of time and blood, sweat, and tears putting this all together. I enjoyed it still. Good job DJ EW.

I actually like this one! The thing dj ear worm does that no one else really does is make the lyrics make some kind of sense. But also this just sounds good. Nothing will ever top 2009 but hey half of us can’t even make something this good so...

I actually strongly disagree with most of the comments claiming that this is "bad" or the worst one. This United State of Pop (USOP) is the best in years, quite possibly in the top 3 since 2009 (I think we all agree that 2009 is *the* best USOP, and probably won't be topped). The music flow is great, the beat is catchy, and most importantly to me, the lyrics of the song actually make sense as opposed to just being crammed together like they were in past USOP years. It's utterly baffling to me that people think this is "bad" or not one of the better ones. My Top Three USOP: 1 - 2009 2 - 2012 3 - 2017

Did you catch it? How hopeful the tone is compared to last year’s? Last year, “the whole year put you in the worst mood / it’s hard sometimes / it fucked you up.” This year, “just picture everybody seeing beauty through the darkest days”, and even though “I already told you” (in 2016) “it can be hard”, “you can hate all the hate”, and “this isn’t the end”. He name-checks cities all across the country, and adds Cuba, with whom our relations recently thawed despite attempts to stop those deals. This is the message we needed. Thanks, Earworm.

I think the reason why people are bashing this mashup is due to the lyrics not flowing well like the other mashups. It feels way too rushed and song stacked upon song.. If it were slower and it didn’t feel like it’s just playing songs after another it’d be good! But other than that, DJ Earworm, I know a lot effort goes into the editing and thought process and I appreciate that! Keep up the work!

I still can’t over how incredible this instrumental is. Despacito is very upbeat and fun, but Body Like A Back Road really adds to it to make it more interesting. I love how you added Something Just Like This’ drop every once in a while to mix things up. And of course, Shape Of You to tie to the whole thing together. Incredible!

Loved it! The instrumental is so great, maybe the vocals can sound a bit fast and choppy like some comments say but making mashups with lyric sense is really difficult so this is amazing! Actually I liked it more than 2016 one and I didn't like music this year :)

I grew up in an era where the 2009 and 2011 versions were much better. However, out of the more recent ones, this one is the best (in my opinion).

Guys we get it. You like the older years but it isn't his fault, honestly I've always loved his remixes ever since I heard them back in maybe like 2009(?) No matter what songs he mashed up they always sounded good to me and thats why I love all of them. We can't go back in time so either listen to just the old ones or stop compalining.

I check for the new Earworm mix every year. Though my comment may not be seen, I feel the need to say that I like and appreciate these mashups, as well as the effort that goes into them. No matter how many comments say "this isn't as good as 20XX's mix" or "music these days sucks!!!" I will still be here every year, supporting DJ Earworm's talent at creating something cool... Something I would never have the time or skill for. TLDR; Good job again, man! See you next year!
