This is an old mix-tape from 1996, so I apologize for the sound quality in the first twenty minutes, I tried my best to remaster it.
This set is from the Legendary DJ Gonzo in his early days spinning Acid & Hard Trance @ Club Vinyl. After the Limelight closed, everyone spread out amongst the different clubs in the New York scene. At this time, DJ Gonzo became a resident DJ for Digital Domain's UNITY party every Friday night @ Club Vinyl. There was nothing better than a DJ Gonzo set at 3am followed by DJ Tommy Tunes, into the wee hours of the morning. THE MUSIC, THE PEOPLE, THE DRUGS, THE DANCING, THE ENERGY...it was really INCREDIBLE.
For those who had the pleasure of experiencing the Legendary UNITY parties before they got shut down by Rudy Guliani's war on the New York club scene hopefully remember how insane and awesome the parties were...this was and will always be my happy place. Enjoy!

Yo i been searchin for this for yrs. Bought cassette in a car wash in ozone park queens. Poir quality but refeeshing just to hear again after 25 yrs

From wat i remember unity on sundays was the shelter and Thursday was a hippie thing called wetlands. Yeah! Im that old school !!

Chris (Gonzo) is such a solid person. Just a good guy. I wish he’d start a podcast, or a SoundCloud where he releases/uploads all his old mastery that he probably has, or at least has access to. Chris was way ahead of his time. I truly hope he’s doing well.

A long long time ago, DJ Savage told me that Gonzo gave away most of his old records. Not sure if there is any truth to that or not, but Savage was known to be a pathological liar, so I'd like to think Gonzo still has them ;)

Hell yeah I remember that night he shut down the tables and them Dirty Boyz made him shut down the tables and then he turned them shitz back up like twice I think and then they ran up in the boof and cuffed him up I got locked up at night too yo I think we have more fun inside them cages then we did at the club LOL
