Blame overexposure. Activision poisoned the market with too many games and by the time this came out, people were sick of the genre. They don't know how to quit.

As much as I agree with you, the rhythm game genre was at a state of near non-existence after the 2nd DJ Hero game came out. It just wasn't profitable enough to make one more sequel off of either.
