One of the more underrated & underappreciated DJs that we have. Been at this game for decades. I wish he was a fixture on like WBLS or had his own station on XM. But I have been following this thread of mixes that he has. I still play the recording of his Christmas Day show he did back on the former 98.7 Kiss FM back in like 2008. That was 🔥. This mix just hits right man. Great DJ on the 1s & 2s right here man.

I think his (incredibly charming) comedic role on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air caused a lot of people to miss what a fucking monster this guy is on the decks. And that includes the early Fresh Prince albums.

Ever since I heard him put together the funk, jazz, soul and R&B elements that comprise "Brand New Funk" back when I was a youngblood in '88, I've followed Jeff every year with my jaw dropping at his encyclopedic mastery of music. I like how he's matured in his mix compositions, too...... He never lets us down. Keep strong, Jeff!

What you said is about as right as saying "auto tune is old skool as long as the way you hold the mic is old skool". This is not to say Jazzy Jeff is not a good DJ - this right here is just not old skool. Contrary to what the OP said, "twisting a dozen knobs" does not necessarily make something bad either.
