Anybody saying that Kanye isn't one of the greatest artists of the last generation, doesn't know music and should stop trying to act as if they do. There is a difference between being one of the greatest rappers and one of the greatest artists. There is a reason as to why some amazing underground rappers can't speak on the same level of acclaim that Kanye can. It's because their artistry doesn't even come close to equating to the quality of their raw skill as lyricists. Vice versa as well. Not to mention how Kanye has spawned on the entire sub-genre of Hip-hop that is running the game right now. Same goes for the Kid Cudi's, and the Drake's etc. *Ye is a 🐐, deal with it.* 💯

As a producer Kanye is one of the greats, as an MC he's not in the top 50. I kind of give Kanye a pass as an MC though because not many people can produce the records they rhyme on, it's like him, DOOM, RZA, J Cole and a handful of others that can do it well. I like Big and Pac but they are madly overrated posthumously.

Was jay z ever the best rapper though guys because whenever someone is hot, he tends to retire until their run is over then he drops an album then he disappears again... 🙄 I can never respect him like Ye coz its seems like he's scared of failure... like everything has to be perfect, he even buy his own albums to be platinum.

Arsene that’s what he means though. Whenever all the big projects are done and over with, he comes through when nobody is around. I’m not hating I’m just saying he has some truth. His last two projects weren’t that great and he keeps making deals with companies to get these album sales going. That’s just my thought though

Flying Lotus : No he wasnt. But he made classics and he made garbage too. But he never stopped and kept pushing despite all the criticism. You have to respect that. I would definitely have him done as the smartest rapper alive. And definitely in the overall top 10 of all time. He can set trends with a verse. Just very sad to see him put out this mumbling unenthusiatic garbage. Hes lost his connection to music. But still a genius in thw business word. Kanye is tru artist, unfortunately he will end up a Mike Tyson, broke and unable to come back because kf all the enemies. But. Take away his mic meds and snakes that surround him and maybe he can conquer his demon's and continue to create master pieces
