The backstory to this video. Chris Stapleton was sitting in the audience, listening to the band, but played for decades with James Brown. He was enjoying the show when they asked him to please come up and sing. It’s a man’s world! The audience chanted his name begged him to sing. He got up out of his chair without notice him and he sang that song off the top of his head!

They were in high school I was in elementary school . My father could sing was on the radio singing and made 78 albums. You guys probably need to look up what a 78 is. My sister was a back up singing with two other black girls. We all can SANG. Elvis was a melungeon. Another one was Abraham Lincoln. In school play sports, fastest white guy ever. I absolutely loved him and everything from the Motor City back in the day. Please Give Chris a bit of credit for even attempting such a legendary song. He and James Brown are both legends in their own way and in their own time. Music should always be fluid.
