Remote idea is genius! I used DMX Transmitter/Receivers for the same thing. This idea is so much better and cheaper. You can just put the light on sound active and turn its power on and off! Awesome Vid!

Dont know why people hate on it soo much? Who whould mind him showing up with his shopping cart full of stuff at a wedding some where. By the way the bungee cord with the poll for leverage for the sub is briliant.

No different than having a light stand up... Actually this unit is extremely sturdy, It actually surprised me. My original setup was a table top version, when I found out how sturdy is was, I just added table legs to it... to each his own, thanks for your comment.

@MrCoreyComer Thank you!!! Hopefully by spring I will unveil my newest ideas.. Even easier than the one you see here! Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the comment. It really isn't that heavy, since it rolls on wheels it hasn't been an issue. Maybe as I get a bit older I will think differently....

@djjohnnyrockit Thanks......... it really saves a lot of time setting up. No problem going up and down stairs either.

@DJRockinRob Thanks! I will check it out. However I also am considering the weight. Currently my rig can go up and down stairs and is pretty well manageable in all areas. I have a plan drawn out on paper for a new rig, just need to find the time to play around with fabricating it. As always thanks for the comments!!!

@Goldsatanwolf Never have a problem with falling over. This thing is very sturdy! I can shake the entire light tower and it's holds up great.... been using it over a year now with no problems. All of my clients really like it. This thing might look strange, but let me tell you it really saves setup and breakdown time.......... 20-30 minutes and that taking my time.....

@smjvids Actually this thing is amazingly sturdy. But 2 30lb scanners are a bit heavy, but I bet if I had them I would put them on this rig. I'm designing another rig similar, but it will erect differently ( trying to make it easier on my back )..... Thank for the comment!

@DJRockinRob Wow time flies. Well I haven't built the new one yet. It's still in the development stages. Every time I think I have it I see something someplace that makes me change the design. This is what happens when you have an overactive mind. The one I have works well so I want the new one to blow this one away!!! Hopefully have design finalized by end of this winter Trying to incorporate electric motor to lift the rig from the ground, (scissor jack style)Maybe speakers too?
@DJSteveAlexander12 жыл бұрын
@DjRyBiz I'm not sure... It doesn't really bother me. I know it works for me and that is all that matters!!!! I know my clients always comment on how nice my setup looks and all the lights I include for the price. Thanks for the positive comment I appreciate those pro-DJ's who understand!

Believe it or not it is just a cheap 3 receptacle remote outlet. Work amazingly well!!! Just search something like this in ebay and you will see what i'm using. 3-Pack Wireless Remote Control AC Electrical Power Outlet Plug Switch Socket

@djlexx86 No offense taken... I haven't had any issues to date. Everything working well and not damaged. I will take your comment as an "I told you so" when something happens!!! LOL

that has to be the easiest way to set up and take down your gear, pretty nice :D

Brilliant! I know it is a lot to ask for but do you by chance happen to have a schematic or how you made this? If not, could you make another video explaining more in detail what parts you used and some of the challenges you faced making it and how you overcame them? I would love to make something like this. I am disabled so a setup like this (even a more simple version) would be extremely helpful. Genius!
@DJSteveAlexander11 жыл бұрын
No offense taken! Completely understand..... In this video the lights were just placed around as a demo. During an actual event I try and place them out of harms way or even hang them from the drop ceilings if available. All comments are welcome that is how we all learn....
@DJSteveAlexander13 жыл бұрын
@DJRockinRob Funny you should say that. I have been thinking about this very same idea. I even want to see if I can make a scissor style lift for my speaker system. Don't know if I can do it, just in the thought stages at this point. Thanks!
@imthedude12 жыл бұрын
very creative..although my only comment is , it could be a little more sturdy you do have quite a bit of heavy lights mounted...also i once dj'd myself and those lights on the ground will attract alot of kids careful with those!

Nice Rig!!! Lots of thought went into making that setup... pretty neat ideas... I'm looking at speakers now, for home/personal use... I'm thinking of getting a pair of powered tops first, then adding a sub later... 12s and a 15... would that be decent for small spaces and still sound Ok outside for BBQs? I'm looking at Behringer as I am on a budget and won't be DJing for pay. Mostly rock./country but some of everything.

@gphumanx01 Thanks for the comment. What kinda flat lights are you refering to? Flat Par Pros??
@nigeldj199712 жыл бұрын
he men, prety nice setup and pretty impresive that you build it all your self. but inst it heavy to to drag with you, because of all the lights on it ?, i think that you can better put the reflex on the mounting system and one of the effects on the ground.

Pity you hadn't a second quad phase instead of the revo for the other side, would make it look much more balanced. But very nice!

I really like the concept, but it seems very shakey and unstable. Maybe better on a 6 or 8 foot table.

With all do respect, I like the ease and the creativity, but it looks very unstable, congested, and even unsafe. Anyone could fall into this and hurt themselves, I do not really see any type of deterrent to keep guests away from the setup. But if it is working for ya, more power to ya. I just would never show up at a wedding with something like this. But great ideas none the less.

+J Remedy In that case the buffet table provides a burning hazard. Just saying! About as quick and dirty as it gets. I would use it for low budget events

Hanging lights from drop ceilings isn't any safer!
@djlexx8612 жыл бұрын
I think trying to save time when setting up & tearing down can be important sometimes...but you are really taking a risk at damaging your equipment. You have so much products mounted on a small table. Then you have other lights on the floor that by chance, someone can just go over and kick them. Im not saying anything negative about your setup, I just think that you have a good amount of money invested in this, only to take chances on ruining your setup. I hope you dont take it offensively.

Ridiculous set up, sorry, but just one mis-placed swift-moving kick from a drunk punter asking for a request, or a small shove from the dancefloor and the whole thing would come crashing down. Not good, not safe. :-/
