Were you on drugs? I'm a bit of a snobby elitist with music. A huge Radiohead fan, Pink Floyd, that sort of thing, but I also can readily admit that this song is pretty great. I've always wondered though if a lot of this music was 'designed' for an ecstacy trip. I only ever smoked weed back in the day, and music was great with weed, but I've heard people say that Peter Gabriel's solo music, for example, and his music videos are steeped in magic mushroom and lsd imagery, filled with sounds that'll really tip you over the edge if you heard them while tripping. So I've found myself wondering if a lot of the things that songs like this do, is purely with a trip in mind.
@michaelcruze85602 жыл бұрын
@@childofthesun32 No I was not on drugs. I didn't even know what E was at the time. I may have dabbled later on, but not then. 2001 was a very special year to me for a variety of reasons. Trance/House music had its place on the path I was on at the time. I appreciate this song for what it is and also for the nostalgia it stirs up for me.

I'm 49. Proper music is the stuff the gods and the angels are jealous of. They can sense the ecstasy but not the grit and cold and blood and dirt and loss like us. We sense real love, real bliss, real loss. They theorise. This is no different to Bach or Metallica or Deep Purple (Sweet Child in Time). This is God experiencing himself. And spinning like a godhead top :D This, my friends, is the primordial sh1t. Put this on a spaceprobe and watch them reach out to us

I'm 37 and I remember this. Grew up on trance, techno, and alternative rock. Then got on rap and hip hop. At the age of 17 I got addicted to drugs because of peer pressure in high school. Praise God he was with me through it all. Jesus Christ gives me the peace that surpasses all understanding. Joy that lasts for eternity in the new heaven and earth. He died on the cross to reconcile us back to the Father in heaven. This Good News beats any temporal dopamine feels. That's for sure. Love you brother!

That's only because you were young and apparently were not exposed to different kinds of music. That's part of a parents job. The kid gives things a chance because you never know when your favorite thing is right around the corner. Also your generation did not learn how to dance! I'm just a bit older, not much, but you have to learn how to actually dance. You never know when that skill turns a no into a yes! 😉

The 2000s were just the best in general. Even though it ended on a sour note, it still was a damn good decade to have been young in if you were at least old enough to enjoy it.

I recently turned 18 and it’s a shame that early rave music isn’t appreciated as much today. EDM music and raves have always been something I admired and want to go do.

The best days of my life...
@MrCabrera1114 жыл бұрын
I'm 32 and this song feels nostalgic to me from my high school days. 04-07, I was a late bloomer Lol. But still, I was at that era where cellphones weren't as advanced, computers and social media were, but not how it is now. I miss those days so much though. It made me smarter trying to figure out an address through printed mapquest maps, or remembering people's numbers cause it was essential or like mostly everyone else did, we had an agenda with numbers. Idk I miss the simple things of that era, even though they might not be considered as simple nowadays Lol

Windows movie maker, a loosely curated mix of trance songs with a pretty lengthy silent tail end…now this helps me remember what life is all about! Gotta find my home DDR pads again…for some reason, I’ve always felt that is song was romantic.

@@joshuakhaos4451 the reason why i only drive 90s and early 2000s vehicles. i miss those days. when the first xbox was the craziest thing to hit technology and motorola phones were a thing lol

@@Silvergoatdc4 I feel the 2000s were probably the peak of our society. Not saying the last decade didnt have some great stuff come out, because it did. but quality of life was an absolute downgrade. The way people behaved when I was growing up devolved at an unreal pace over the last decade, the out of control cost of living and quality of life over all just fell off a cliff. And I'm the same way, I own an 09 GT and I feel its the perfect amount of old school and modern convenience. It was the the last of modern cars to not come with screens and menus galore. Only higher end cars had screens by the late 2000s, and even those arent bad since they were relatively simple.

Me too gal, a simpler time. Hows this for nostalgia, you'll know what I'm talking about- we'd smoke in the club, WKD, DJ Luck and MC Neat, then we'd have sex against the wall in an adjacent alley/car park. They don't make em like us anymore, do they?
