Pyramind mentor Aaron Kuppin (aka Raid Zero) gives us a quick DJ tutorial on how to use memory markers in the CDJ 2000 Nexus 1, as well as the CDJ 2000 Nexus 2. He goes over using the Loop Mode technique on both CDJs, as well as the Beat Jump technique on the CDJ 2000 Nexus 2.

Erin, you are the fking shit dude! Best to the point tutorial on how to use memory markers on the CDJ 2000, fr tho. I'm a newbie, teaching myself so I've watched quite a few videos. On this subject, clear fking winner! Thank you!

This is a great tutorial! I have a lot of radio edit version of songs..would you recommend marking 16 bar phrases, or what might be a more ideal way to been these types of tracks together? Thank you!

Thank you :) I can't give you a definitive answer since radio edits are all cut differently. Some use 4-8 beat intro's, some start at the breakdown, some have a 1 phrase intro. You would have to use your own judgement for the tracks you have.

I have a question for you. I noticed you are marking the cue points on the player, but how do you export this to rekordbox? The cue points aren't going to remain there based on my experience.

hes making memory cues which are different to hot cues, you can make memory cues on rekordbox aswell as hot cues :)

I have the cdj 2000 nexus, and my memory markers on some tracks are slightly off. I have to hit "search" to nudge them over to be completely on point. Any ideas? The cdj firmware is updated and so is my rekordbox software.

best thing to do is go into rekordbox an use the slide option to move the beat of the bar to the correct position on the time mapping.. this is caused because the time mapping isn't always 100% accurate on rekordbox or serato.

what's the differences between nexus 1 and nexus 2? any major differences??

Burak Akkas nexus 2 is touch screen and allows for track search with QWERTY keyboard as well as 2 pages for all 8 cue points that you’re able to program in rekordbox. It’s sliiiiightly slower on track loading. I’m sure there’s more but that’s why I bought mine mostly.
