Geoff said recently that Ej and Omar need to be heard live as the sheer power of their voices just isn't obvious through a screen. He thinks that's the reason that Omar didn't win The Voice. The home audience didn't get the same voice that the studio audience heard. VoicePlay don;t do "bad" :)

Great reaction, so fun to catch the premiere and chat with y'all. EJ is a beautiful singer, Voctave is so lucky to have him. This song makes me remember how much I miss J.None. Also, I'd never seen the video with captions on before, and I had to laugh at the all-caps Geoff notes and smiley face. Geoff adds the captions, and we all know he's a goofball at heart.

Completely agree. EJ is just one part of Voctave but what a part, right? In a few months we'll be in the heart of holiday time, which would be an excellent time to make an exploratory journey thru the Voctave repertoire, I'd say!

If you're an EJ Cardona fan, check out Voctave's Disney Heroes and Villains cover. E.J. is fabulous in that. Where E.J. really shines, though is in Voctave's cover "Oh Come All Ye Faithful". Check that out at Christmas. Voctave and E. J. just slay that song.

This is one of 2 songs that perfectly represent Voiceplay. With the way they have grown and improved over the years they certainly are going the distance. The other being A Million Dreams. This piece is just wonderful, I love, love, love that last section with Eli, EJ, and J singing counter melodies. I always keep the closed captions on. Geoff doesn't always throw humor in, but frequently has very descriptive captions, as he did in Ain't No Sunshine.

I am always astounded by how beautifully this was done when I remember to watch it. It’s an oldie and I forget about it. I had never seen the movie and I did go out and watch it just because of the cover. When you watch it again, and I know you will, watch the closed captioning at that spot where Geoff surprised you. His line is in all caps becaus, you know, he’s got that big voice🤣. I don’t know if you know this but EJ, his wife Lindsay and Cesar make up the core of a couple of groups that are represented by Hawkmoon Creative and they perform at Epcot quite often. I thought you would enjoy this video because it shows EJ as more of a rocker and you’ve only seen him doing heartfelt pieces. This is recorded with a cell phone so the quality is not great, but it’s really enjoyable to see them in a totally different way. The blonde woman is EJ’s wife Lindsay who is also one of the members of the American Sirens. They collaborated with Geoff in his cover of Mele Kalikimaka. In the early days of Disney Cruise Line, one of their stage shows was Hercules and it was fantastic! I already loved the soundtrack so that ended up being my favorite of the DCL productions. Fun fact: Jennifer Hudson was one of the muses in the shipboard production before her famous days. 😊

IF you haven't done it, "The Hercules Medley" by Michael Kore is FANTASTIC. It's the only video I can find with the group put together in it that I can find, otherwise I'd consume it with the same fervor I do Voiceplay). It's not acapella... but My God is it ever worth watching regardless.

Disney's Hercules is not one of my favorites. I'm a Greek Mythology buff, and it really bugged me that they had Hercules chilling with Pegasus (That was Perseus!) and the villain should have been Hera, not Hades. But this song is really good, and you made me appreciate the Voiceplay version even more! And I did love how they copied Hades's blue burning hair on the guy from Ally McBeal in "Once Upon A Time."
