Scarborough Fair is from an old English folk song. Simon & Garfunkel version is the most famous as far I know. There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as messengers of this sad and beautiful story. Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, and rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him anymore. BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in the same areas in fact while on my researching English references.. so it could be just for remembering the recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.

Welcome to the rabbit hole of Forestella. They are phenomenal. Their harmonies are ethereal. The first singer is the leader, Cho Mingue. He and the bass, Ko Woorim, both graduated with university degrees in performance, specifically opera. The singer on the far right, Bae Doohoon, has a degree in musical theater and has appeared in a number of musicals in Seoul. The one with the incredible high voice, Kang Hungho, also known as Pitta, was a chemical engineer whose only musical background was singing with an amateur rock band in Busan while he got his degree. Out of 100, he was the only entrant in a Korean vocal competition show who had no musical training. He entered when he turned 30 to settle his own mind about whether he could be a professional singer. He sang both parts of the duet from Phantom of the Opera as his entry--and placed in the top 20 who went on to compete on the show, along with the other three members of Forestella. It's how they met, and they won. His performance is on the Forestella channel. There are so many amazing performances--in 10 different languages and many different types of music. This is such an unusual and interesting group. Forestella's voices just don't seem to fit the people they are attached to at all and it makes me smile to see it. I'm definitely quite...ignorant when it comes to KPop but it seems to me that a lot of K-Pop artists stick in the mid-range over the extreme highs and lows (counter-tenor and basso profundo respectively) that we see here. I love getting to see artists who do different things. I really enjoyed your reaction to my favourite vocal group. You're just about certain to have heard Scarborough Fair before. It's believed to be a sixteenth century ballad and Simon and Garfunkel made it famous with their interpretation in the 1960's. It's always been one of my favourite songs which is how I first listened to Forestella. Forestella is a South Korean crossover male quartet who can sing brilliantly basically anything. Other beautiful covers include Hijo De La Luna, Parla Piu Piano, Nella Fantasia, Sound Of Silence and Inner Universe. Pitta, or Kang Hyung Ho the counter tenor, is stunning in all of these. He has two different versions as a soloist with Phantom Of The Opera (one a Rock version) that are both outstanding. He also heads a Rock band also called Pitta. Fun and innovative Forestella covers include Bad Romance, Sweet Dreams, Bohemian Rhapsody, Shape Of You, Despacito and Time In A Bottle. Their musical arrangements are the best and their cover of Je Suis Malade is emotionally wrenching. Powerful covers include Champions, Legends Never Die, Lazenca Save Us and Warriors. Alot of people will update you on forestella, but that song scarborough fair, is a very old song from the 70's, I beleive simon and garfunkel sang the original however I could be wrong and this time of the morning I am also too lazy to google it. So it is more than likely been in so many movies and other places over the years. Its a very well known ballad. Just forestella cover it beautifully and make it breathtaking to listen to.

BTW your not wrong nor is it insulting, alot of the music channels with expert musicians say very few men can go very high as mens vocal cords are thicker and its harder to reach higher. But there are a few men like him who can do those high notes. So while I appreciate your not trying to come across as sexist, in this case your definitely well clear of that.

"What fair maiden did this man swallow?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I live for these eruptions of spontaneity on these reactions. Honestly, there are other male singers (though few) who can reach HH's high notes, but it's the non-operatic youthful delivery that impresses me, because I think he's pulling back to keep that gentle quality of tone. Females singers like Sarah Brightman belt out more on the high notes so they sound older and operatic.
