She is the mother of an angel boy that was on this Earth 10 days an a mother of a 2 year old boy that has no fear AND step mother of an 11 year old boy. She fixes cars and cooks gourmet meals. She dances thru mud puddles with her son and helps old men wheel their wheel chair bound wife thru a snowy parking lot to a doctor appointment. Yet - she will protect you from any wildling. I am so proud to be the mother of a Savage Daughter.

Definitely adding this version to my playlist. That rhythmic 'grunting' throat singing type thing sounds a little bit like the same thing Eivor does. It's making sound on the exhale of breathe... it definitely does give the vibe of Native American/First Nations music. Amazing reaction as always!

She has a distinctive voice that enhances whatever she chooses to sing. The other version I have heard of this song was performed by Malinda. I think it is actually an Irish song, but I could be wrong as well.

I dont know who made it, but ive loved it since i first heard it in the series viking when they introduced the female lead character. This version, especially the part without words reminds me of the special singingstyle joik of the Sami people of northern Sweden (and Norway, Finland and Russia)

Ekaterina's version seems to be the universal standard. And rightly so. It is used in most fan made videos who act out the lyrics that have seen. Other vocal versions are good but, not as haunting as this. Agree with your reaction comments. Thanks!

Ekaterina is Canadian born. As soon as you mentioned Aloy my mind started creating the video in my head. You said “I am strong, I am woman” and instantly I thought of a song for a reaction, two artists I don’t think you have reacted to before, The Hu and Lzzy Hale from the band Halestorm and their song “Song of woman” probably good for a Mother’s Day release. The Hu wrote the song, they asked Lzzy to write English lyrics for it.

I instantly thought it had a Celtic vibe and heritage. But honestly for me it transcends all ethic and culture constraints and all mothers need to teach our girls to be warriors. Our boys as well, but we have a hang over from our past that suggests we women need a man. Fairy tales are the worst for it, we all wait for our prince to save us.
