Keeping the thumb in place for the "wiggle/ slide " seems to have something in common with violin vibrato - which I am still working on. Thanks, Denis. It is definitely a journey !!

Hey Denis - great video! Quick gear question, do you use the DPA (I assume it's a DPA) for live work? Would you recommend?

Thanks for watching! Hmm I have a bunch of these DPAs that I mainly use for remote recording work . I’ve rarely used it for live applications. I hear very good things about them though! The few times I ‘ve used them live were in situations where the venue was not noisy , so generally a proper concert hall and not a bar. I think like most microphones, you have to be careful about feedback when performing in certain conditions (such as noisy bars). Sorry I couldn’t be of more help. The sound is fantastic though!

@@DenisChangMusic thanks! Yeah it’s that perennial quest for a halfway decent way of amplifying a Selmer-Macaferri. I play a lot with drums, so I suspect a DPA might not be the answer…

interesting, the one finger Django tech. influenced Duane Allman and Dick Betts of the Allman bros in the songs Jessica and Blue Sky all Django one finger influence here Juust saying because these songs became foundational hits ,
