It has always seemed that SmallRig considered the little things that make it easier for creators and have really grown to like and appreciate their products starting with the original Osmo Action Cage I purchased years ago. That would be awesome because the camera would retain its ipx rating. I never have cared for having that door covering for the usb in my pocket and the way the DJI receiver just rest in the USB-C is always taking up real estate in my mind. It would definitely open up possibilities and I'm sure DJI would sell a ton of transmitters for say $99. It would be smart on their part.

@@Donny_B right! I didn't even think about that! They could totally sell single transmitters that way! And they could still sell the same kit of 2 transmitter 1 receiver for your Sony mirrorless or your Google pixel or whatever. But their hardware would work even easier with their own hardware. I think they'd become far more competitive to GoPro and RØDE with that single move!

Thank you so much for the kind words and taking the time to watch and comment. I very rarely use the additional batteries and never use the stick that came with the kit. You absolutley can charge while you're recording. The recharge time is extremely fast as well. As far as holding the stick smoothly, that is all built in stabilization. Wish I could take the credit but it all camera, haha. The Action 4 was just released. I am expecting it tomorrow so I hope to have a video up on it this weekend. I hear the low light performance is better on the 4 but that tells me that there will be some deals on the 3 so be looking out for that. Thanks again for your support and kind words. @@Donny_B Thanks again Donny! I ordered the Action 4 standard combo at B&H. Should arrive in two more days. I'll be taking it to Africa on a mission trip coming up. I'm a videographer and photographer and will be documenting our trip for our group of 19 people plus to use for the non-profit. Don't want to bring by Lumix GH6 and two GH5's- it's too much to carry and handle on this busy, hectic trip. Just bringing the GH6, GH5 and Action 4. I think the Action 4 will allow me to leave my gimbal at home?? I don't know for sure. Will wait to see how the IQ looks with my main cams. Thinking also I could use it for a third camera angle on tripod too. Will be cool to have a stealth camera to use walking around in some dicey areas in townships too. How are you liking the 4? Had any chance to use it yet? Is it noticeably better than the 3? Reviews look great:)

@FourKnown congrats on your new purchase. It's always exciting getting a new camera. I still have not received mine. Should be today or tomorrow. I cannot think of a single DJI product that I've purchased that I regret. Being that I haven't received mine yet I will say that I would not hesitate at all to use the 3 on a trip with such significance and the 4 should be that much better. The battery is amazing, the stabilization is great, and you should be able to fit it just about anywhere. Thanks again for your support and your time. Also, I know that the Action 3 listed a 256 gb card as biggest it can use, but I've been using the Samsung Pro Plus 512gb card with no issues. Maybe the 4 will be higher but don't be afraid to throw a big card in it. Enjoy your camera and your trip! Sounds like you have it figured out 🙌

The tripod I referred to in the video is the Ulanzi MT-16, but they have several that extend various lengths. That would be nice to see the Action 4 sooner than later. I feel like I'm just getting the 3 figured out though. This drives me insane. I have not found a reason why, or even the pattern in which it cuts. Some clips will be a minute and others 6 minutes. It is aggravating. Do your files export in order? It seems like when i export it is just as sporadic as the clips. Cant seem to figure out the pattern in this either. Maybe one day I will have enough weight to call DJI out about it, but today ain't it, lol. To answer your question, I'm not quite sure. I've just learned to deal with it. I may try to shoot in HEVC .265 and see if it is any different. Thanks for your time watching and commenting. I know I didn't give you the answer you wanted but I'll see what I can find out. But you are not alone on this. Maybe that is why they gave us the ability to name files and folders. 🤷

The camera caps the main video files at 4GB which at 4k30 translates to about 6 minutes/clip. Prior to the Hero11 (and maybe the 10 I'm not sure), GoPro did this as well. Their rationale was that if something happened to the camera, then you wouldn't lose all of the footage but the technical reason is that they use the FAT32 file system which caps file sizes to 4GB (even if your card is formatted to ExFAT). Depending on your resolution and framerate, the duration of the clips will be different. What DJI really needs to do is update the camera playback (and app as well) to automatically stitch these together so that when reviewing on the camera, it appears as the single, entire clip.

Continuous, 4K is a solid 2 hours. It really depends if your using horizon balance or rock steady plus. At is full potential, two hours is pretty solid. 1440p is probably 2.5 - 3. I typically shoot in 1440p. It's a good balance between battery life, quality, and file size. 4k gets pretty hot and the file sizes can get pretty high. I went to a new whitewater park that our city just opened and filmed the entire trip in 4k. I used 2 batteries and used 320 gigs of a 512 card. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment

@Muraschid I have a 512gb in it now. I've never had an issue. I noticed it said 256 on the spec sheet and I originally bought a 256 for the Action 3 and a 512 for the Mini 3 Pro. One day I threw the 512 in the Action 3 and have not looked back since. I'm using the Samsung Pro Plus

@Muraschid no worries, sometimes I have a hard time with English myself 🤓. Honestly, my first one had a few issues with close focusing. It had a manufacturing date of September. I sent it back in and received a new one with a manufacturing date of January. Everything is nice and crispy now. One thing I did notice though and I'm sure this is something that I am doing, the footage straight from camera is great. Even when I dump it to my computer, it is great, but for some reason when I upload to KZfaq it kind of breaks apart sometimes. Maybe it's a KZfaq issue or maybe it's export settings. That honestly is the only issue I have at the moment. After the updates and receiving a second, newer copy. It is great! There is a down side to being an early adopter.
