Use my avata for tight, low wind shots, while i use my fpv for days with more wind or i need to chase something thats going faster

I will be making an updated video about FPV vs Avata, what You wrote is the best usage of both, the Avata just isn't made for any windy conditions. Both have their use scenerios !

The fpv is meant to be a raw flying experience at high speed. The camera quality is a secondary consideration.

i was doubting my avata, but it's been nothing short of amazing. and i've been flying drones since 2010 - ish.., when dji was called naza. i flew helis and planes long before...but so crazy the progression.

Both drones serve different purposes. Avata offers a relaxed and secure flying experience, ideal for those seeking leisure. On the other hand, The FPV is designed for enthusiasts craving high-speed flights, daring maneuvers, and tackling challenging weather conditions-hence its name, FPV. Personally, I enjoy using my Avata for leisurely sessions. Also a GoPro isn't particularly heavy, but attaching it to the FPV significantly affects the flying experience, diminishing it due to aerodynamic disruptions, proper weight distribution, and increased battery usage due to its affects of the flight. If you plan to attach a GoPro to an FPV it might not be the ideal choice.

I think it's best to have both and if you already have the first one you can get just the Avata drone & batteries to cut down on costs. Also the goggles you can use in DIY builds for risky flights when a crash is cheaper to fix, DIY builds you choose/make your parts and can make them stronger and goggles v2 seem most compatible right now, pity DJI does not make latest stuff backward compatible at least not straight away.

Keep in mind too the Avata has turtle mode if you crash and land upside down. If you land upside down with the FPV with the gopro on top, you would have to go find it. Thw Avata can flip itself over and upright.

Just fly the thing. For video or camera functions, i use my dji mavic. The fpv is for ripping fun. That's why you can't pan the camera. Bad comparison. This should be about which flys as an first person vehicle. Not a high cenima movie unit. Thank you though.

2:30 the reason why you see the propellers with the FPV is because there’re assuming that you’re going to use rocksteady I believe it’s called, and that will crop in the image.

That could very well be the reason (and makes logical sense) 😄 But it's still not that good for video, You get a tight angle or one with props 😅

FPV still worth it. Avata as well, but I will probably get something else as my second O3 quad. If you are looking for a digital entry point, I recommend you to get either one, does not matter much, if you get a complete one. I got the FPV because it was a better money deal for me. Now I can get just the Avata chepaer if I want to. Then after you have the base, get the other one (it is way cheaper). You can also get many other options with O3 compatibility. It becomes easy. But both are awesome as an entry point. =) To my surprise, the other ones are not cheap as well, and they don't offer GPS failsafe, so they're not that awesome as people have been saying. So, don't hear people who say this or that against, that is bullshit. They are rock solid, high quality drones. I had many FPV quads before, I am not a beginner, and I am telling you, it's worth the money.

My only problem as a beginner is dji fpv drone is too heavy for manuel hovering and landing. Weight of dji pulling it down fast compaired build quad. I do own nowadays 5" 4S quad i do fly and hovering like pro. I think dji fpv require more skills than blueprint drone to fly fully manuel mode.

Avata is for filming in tight spots, FPV is for having a LOT of fun. Personally for my needs the FPV is the vastly superior drone but I don't care about camera quality at all. Personally the camera of the Avata isn't that great and I don't understand the niche it's trying to fill. FPV however is easily the most fun DJI drone to fly.

I have a avata and setting it up takes a fat minute. Have to power everything up then plug the cables to the goggles. Having to connect the battery and cable from phone to goggles is the biggest draw back for me. Other than that the AVATA is dope. And yes i do know the goggles integra eliminates these cables but il also lose some stuff the goggles 2 has

Well with traditional FPV drones, the same thing would happen. You would lose both the drone and FPV. Essentially using DJI drones without GoPro are the exception. It all depends on Your use case scenario and what You need the FPV drone for 😄

@julius43461 9 ай бұрын
I would get Avata but I heard that noise coming from that one is particularly bad. Is that true? Is FPV any better? Also, if I understand correctly, you are implying that camera that comes with Avata is better than FPV? How much does mounting a go pro on top of FPV impacts it's flight time? Thank you.
@SebastianDylag
@SebastianDylag 9 ай бұрын
To be honest.... FPV is louder, it sounds much more "beefy" and the Avata sounds more like a toy compared to FPV ( so that can be good when You don't want people to think You're flying a tank 😂) But I would say Avata is not as loud and You can't here it as much when flying around 😄
@SebastianDylag
@SebastianDylag 9 ай бұрын
As for the second question : Avata has better camera, both in quality , field of view (wider) and overall usability for videos. That's why You don't need to mount a GoPro on it ! The DJI FPV is great when used with an external camera, but the flight time can be much much lower ( I think I'm getting about X2 more battery on Avata because of that, so let's say 7/9 minutes vs 15/17minutes (something around that)

@SebastianDylag
@SebastianDylag 8 ай бұрын
So You're telling me DJI promoting this as a FPV for making videos, was a lie ? "High-Quality Video - Ensure footage is as breathtaking as the experience with 4K/60fps video and a super-wide 150° FOV. " (straight from the DJI website) It was literaly made for it... A company that makes all of their products geared towards filmmaking and photo/video, would not make an FPV made for making videos... that makes sense 😅 I'm sure FPV 2 or Avata 2 will be even better, if only they can add in Avata's camera with strenght of FPV.

This video has a focus on video recording. You shouldn’t buy either of these if you want to make videos for whatever reason you do.. these are not your typical camera drone, the speed is way too fast, the battery life is way too short compared to a real camera drone like the air 2s.. now.. at the same time these are not “racing drones” in the sense if you look into what a racing drone is… your not going to be at the flight course racing others that have a baby ape or whatever.. to me, these 2 drones are in their own class as they don’t fit the bill for either a camera or racing drone. They can do a little both.. why in the hell would u put a go pro on top of either of these? Waste of time,, take the money u would on the gopro and buy a different drone 🤔 I did not expect to hear about all the pros and cons mainly about the damn video recording lol … I mean seriously if you are making a video talking about if they are still worth it and you are complaining of the battery life because you have to spend the extra time to install it on the drone and also the bad battery life you get with a loaded down drone, you are in the wrong hobby. Maybe bowling is betting suited for you! Grab that GoPro and strap it to your bowling hat but please, don’t make a video complaining how heavy it is on your head and that it affects your bowling skills 😂 Lordy Just my opinion that is all.. cheers!
