To all of the critics decrying his use of stickers/decals. Everyone has a right to customize the appearance of their drone, car, home, etc. As I recall some of the more famous WWII pilots similarly placed decals or painted graphics on their aircraft. Stop being so petty and judgmental.... At least he took the time to make and post this video. Just my two cents work.

Nice video, thank you. One thing that may be affecting your signal is you are standing next to either a telephone or power transformer box. You might try moving down the road and away from it as all electronics give off extraneous RF. Love the area too, thanks for sharing.

With my Mini, if I'm in the forrest I get about 900 meters (3000ft). In open, over the ocean, with a lot of high islands between I've got to 2.7km (1.7 miles) at 400ft high. I live in EU, so I got the CE version, which they promissed a range of 2km (1.25 miles). So I'm excited to test the range extenders I ordered a few days ago. I ordered the Yagi-style...

Yes, as others have mentioned, flying higher should definitely help. 300' to 400'. You can always decrease the height near objects you wish to see closer and if at that time you start losing signal, raise it back up. Trees blocking signals seem to be the biggest problem with low flying heights. Flying over water will usually give the longest range - no trees and the water reflects some of the signal to and from the aircraft.

I have just got the mini 2 and it went over a mile in built up area in the city which is really good. My girlfriend got me the yagi range extender but I couldn't get my phone to fit the controller with the extender fitted , which is a shame after seeing you get double the range. Nice video tho thanks.

Nice video. I'm waiting for my Mavic Mini this week. I think there is no need to even extend the range because it goes so far without the extenders that you actually can't even see the drone, it literally gets lost in front of your eyes..

also I suggest people try the yagi style extenders they seem to be better.there are two types.5.8ghz which you should use in the US and there are 2.4 and 5.8ghz that you can use in the UK.

I've seen a couple of tests of these. They are interesting, but seem to be a bit difficult to put on and off. I would think that a little silicone o-ring grease applied to the antennas would help them slide on and off much easier, without harming anything. Just a suggestion to try. Thanks for the video!

Hey. Nice area to fly around, but I'm really surprised that you're getting such short range (without extenders) in such a wide open area with little visible sign of interference sources. Did you check your transmission channels? Do you have a different location you can try flying from? I've managed just over 3Km with no glitches and no extenders in place. I think it's an amazing little drone and I'd hate to think you're not getting the most out of it. Might be worth digging deeper and if after several tests in different locations you're still having range problems I'd get it sent back to be checked out. Just my 2 cents worth, but hope you get it sorted out and are happy with it in the long run.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to help your decals adhere better. And also wipe te body of the drone down before you apply skin.

At the 13L20 mark why is the drone locator appear as if its behind you ? Flying in the opposite direction ?

Use range extender parabolic along with yagi together see what happens...also your not staying oriented with the bird. Look at the icon at bottom of screen.

The radar at the bottom of the screen suggests you were not pointing the controller antenna in the correct direction until you landed it.

Well, they say not to take off near any metal. Maybe it'd be better to not use a transformer box as a table next time.

Something wrong with your radar or didnt calibrated the compass.

I find the risk of out of sight flying and possible loss of equipment irrelevant. The manufacturers can be blamed for getting everybody hyped up about the performance specs just to sell the dam things!!
