@@TECHDRONEMEDIA absolutely. It's not fair on the consumers being misled to spend hard earned money on ND filters when a lot of the time they are simply not needed. At least you tell people honestly which is what it's all about

Having the mini2 and the air 2, often use the ND filters on the drone to slow down the shutter speed for photos. I them for water falls and ocean wave action on shoreline.

Hendrik, I always use only the polarising filter both for still photography & video, I have found that for my use, as the polariser filter drops exposure by approx two stops which is close enough to the 180 rule anyway, it helps all my photography with my Mini 2 drone. You have seen my results on my youtube channel !

I don’t think there is a “maximum” setting on polarising filters. Turning the filter simply changes the angle that reflected light is filtered from. Also worth mentioning that if you set the polarisation to filter reflections from a particular position then changing the point of view significantly will lose the polarisation.

Thx, You explained everything great, as usual. Really like to watch your videos, keep your good work👍 Question at the end; when using nd filter and put from manual to auto mode, it will be good until ISO stays intact? When camera start to change ISO, it will be best to lower ND number. Is it correct? Btw. I'm subscribed, your videos are one of the best👍

If it's useless for photography, then how do I add blur to objects moving (cars, water moving, etc) in my photos when there's too much light? Also in almost night I've used ND filters for getting the shutter very low in the city without the lights being too overexposed and getting all those car lights while they move
@TECHDRONEMEDIA

Sure, but this is next level - most will be benefit from learning the basics first like composition and proper expose, and how to increase dynamic range - you clearly ask this retorik because you know ;-)

@@TECHDRONEMEDIA yep, i wasn't sure if when you said it was stupid to use it for photography in the night or that it was simply useless in any condition, you meant it for everyone, now I realize that it's just for the basics :)

You can use ND filters for stills Photography but really only for long exposure scenarios example the "cotton wool" effect on waterfalls or waves on the beach and also time lapse as they can allow you longer exposure times with less light hitting the sensor on a bright day when it's impossible to get your shutter speed down to say.. 2 seconds as the image is blown out

Early you showed a clip of the fields, one side no filter, the right side has an ND16. The clip on the left (no filter) the grain was brown/yellow, while the field on the right was green… which is the true color? Still waiting for my mini2 to arrive, so can’t test any of your suggestions… yet. Thanks, got to be the most helpful video I watched yet

Thanks for the video! So basically you have to guess or go on experience to know which filter to use. There is no real way to know until you try one. I just got a set of Freewell filters and I will go out try them later. My kit has 8,16,32 and 64 and they are PL as well. So my question is, if I leave the PL on the lowest setting, is it equivallent to a regular ND filter of the same scale? For example, a ND8/PL with PL on minimum is the same as a ND8? Cheers

Please help, my Mavic Air2 video caputres are still choppy despite that I'm recording on internal memory, Im applying the 180 rule using filters, I refreshed the firmware and did the calibrations. My drone was good in the beginning, I just bought it 1 year ago with no crashes. It's driving me crazy to see the poor videos. Please help and share some advice
