My test, experience: this information is hardly mentioned on KZfaq. Set your OSMO Action4 to at least 1/160sec or better 1/200sec in Rock Steady mode (digital stabilizer). The stabilizer is overwhelmed with longer exposure times and you get unusable, blurry images. So you can forget about the often recommended 25/30 images with a 50/60sec exposure time with ND filter "Motion Blur" (180 degree rule) for smooth images. You almost always need digital stabilization switched on with an action cam.

4K, 24fps and as a beginners you might want to leave the settings on auto mode. I’d also set the ISO range not to go to the maximum value (can’t remember the correct bracket right now). Whatever the maximum is, set it one below. So it should look like 100-3200 for example

Nice video, what camera settings do you recommend for 4k street vlogging for sunny day and cloudy , iso , shutter speed , white balance and so forth ?

hey there, it's hard to answer in a few words when I don't know many things about your experience with cameras/editing or what you want to achieve. Also sunny and cloudy days are different scenarios. Correct answer would take a whole video topic. Short answer for general purposes: I'd stick with 4K, 24fps (60 if you want to do slow motion in post). I'd suggest using PRO settings and leave everything on auto, but the ISO select a range of 100-1600/3200. You can go higher but you should test if you like how it looks like when it's dark. I usually try to stick at 1600 but sometimes will go to 3200. Sorry for not getting into all the details, but I've been quite busy. Hope this helps

@@officialhardnox No, the app can only connect to one camera at a time. Regarding noise in low light, I'd go for 24fps, unless there is a particular reason you want to shoot at 60fps. If you timeline is at 60 or you want to slow down those clips then I get it, but that will hold you back quite a bit.

This depends on your PC and the speed of your I/O ports. I usually prefer to remove the SD card and use a fast reader adapter using a USB-C port on the computer, but sometimes out of convenience I'll just connect the camera directly with the cable

Otto, I am newbie. I even haven't bought any camera. Please answer my question. Why do we need to record 4K video when we will compress the video when editing and upload it to KZfaq in 1080p video? Does the 4K record still have impact to the quality of the compressed video? Or Do I need just record in 1080, so I don't need to compress the video when editing and uploading to youtube? hi. You can upload to KZfaq in 4K, and yes, there is going to be some compression at any resolution so my best bet has been to select the right settings and go for a higher resolution. You said something about you having the need to compress it....no, in neither case you have to do that (1080p or 4K), it is done automatically, but honestly, unless you are uploading something that is already low quality, you won't notice a super big difference from the original file. There is also an advantage of using 4K even if you edit on a 1080p timeline. Hi, I have a DJI Osmo Action 4, which I mostly use for scuba diving and I've watched a few of your videos. I use the protective dive case at all times, but this prevents me from being able to adjust the zoom, which I've found frustrating...is it possible to program / save a zoom of 2 when saving the settings? I don’t think you can do that. Do you edit your videos afterwards? You can zoom in in post and the quality will be pretty much the same

What i don't understand by the time you figure all these settings on the subject could be gone. However does the "custom profile" save ALLthe settings?

For those cases it's always good to have a "standard" profile that can fit most situations. It's better to have the shot with less ideal settings than to not get the shot at all (Unless we are talking about an overexposed video, then that's a waste). Custom profiles saves everything related to the mode, it will not save the main camera settings

Shooting at 60 is not always ideal, because your videos will not have the natural motion blur that our eyes are used to. There is a setting called “Scrn Off When Rec”. This is the timer of when the screen will turn off when you are recording a video.

when I use voice command "Start Recording" Then it starts recording but immediately they disable voice command which means I cannot use voice command "Stop recording" Please advise how to prevent voice command get disable.

@@OttoJulian_ now I figure out. They disable when my frame rate is over 30. Once I slow down my frame rate to 30, it works now. As of why, have no idea.

I pre-ordered my and it was delivered before the mass release date. Took it to the Maldives and did a snorkeling video and then stop by Dubai and did a city street and Burj Khalifa video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iJtgo7uJtZayf6M.html. The voice control worked well in a quiet place, but with some surrounding noises it can be annoying. There is no individual voice learning/training feature and often I have to repeat the command a few times to get it to work. Sometimes I have to almost yell at it to get response. Sometimes the camera just stop recording and with the camera on a extended stick you just can't tell that the recording has stopped because the red Record indicator is too small to see. I wish when recording is on there is a big red R flashing on the screen.

thanks for bringing up your experience with this action camera. Nice shots by the way! Yeah the voice control sometimes doesn't seem to listen or recognize what you are saying, and I've found myself raising my voice a bit too much as well
