I think they do that because of the screw-on props to make sure they're tightened correctly. Later drones all have quick attach or bolted props.

I have a Phantom 4... I"ve been flying daily recently and it's 7 years old. Still flies like new and it can pretty much do everything the new ones can.

Yeah, same here, I’ve had my phantom 3 pro since 2015 and it still flies great and takes great video. I don’t fly it much but it’s still fun.

I can decide on smt I want to buy a drone in a month or so and I can't tell if I want a phantom 3 or DJI mini 2 or a mavic mini it sounds like a easy choice but the thing is if I get a phantom 3 they're huge unlike a DJI mini 2 or something like that or you can just throw it in your bag

I like the small drones nowadays but nothing beats hearing those props… I’m after an Inspire 1 just so I can have a big boys toy to fly!

Exactly my thoughts too. I keep my Phantom and Inspire 1 because they are literally antiques (even though they were only introduced 10 years ago) and because it’s a novelty to fly them. The sight and sound of them is impressive. But that’s all. The smaller current drones are far ahead by every measure. The Inspire 3 is a monster in every way but it has an equally monster price tag. Anyway, good thoughts and thanks for sharing! 👍👍😎

Thank you for watching! Are you referring to the phone/tablet mount on the controller? Everything shown in this video was included in the original package for the Phantom 3 Pro and Standard. Not a 3rd party clip.

Yeah the Phantom 3 pro is pretty old in terms of drone years. The 3 pro was introduced in 2015. The phantom 2 was 2014

DJI discontinued the Phantom 3 quite some time ago. If you look on eBay or Mercari you can find pretty good deals in them.

I would say don’t buy the Phantom. Its older technology and size make it difficult to operate and get good results. The Mini 2 will give just as good video and photo performance with a much smaller drone. Even better would be the mini 3 pro or mini 4 pro but they cost more.

No definitely not, only if you like to collect and fly older drones. The Phantoms were excellent drones 8-10 years ago but you are far better off with one of DJIs Mini drones like the mini 2 4k, mini 3 or mini 4 pro. Or the Air 3. It really all depends on how much you want to spend. Check DJI.com for official refurbished.

CSC doesn’t hurt the motors unless you do it 50’ in the air. 😎. Seriously though, I’m quite confident that using CSC to shut down is not at all harmful. That’s the normal way to start the drone. But if you can backup your claim with facts (not opinions) I’m all ears.

Question…. So I have the phantom 3 4k…. It flies great and engine sounds amazing… BUT the camera quality is not 4k and everytime I fly it I watch the drone in the air and not on my phone as your suppose to… it lags and it’s like android quality is there a way to fix this problem? To where I can fly it by looking at my phone screen ?

It’s hard to tell what the actual issue is but it sounds like the transmission signal may be getting weak. If that’s the case it may not worth trying to fix it since it’s an older drone.

Hi Carlos, the Phantoms are great drones but they are almost 10 years old now and really don't even compare with the newer drones like the Mini 3 and Mini 4. If at all possible I highly recommend looking at the Mini 3 Pro or Mini 4 Pro. Right now you can get some good deals on those two drones on the DJI Refurbished website store.dji.com/pages/refurbished . I have bought several drones and other devices from DJI official refurbish and it was like buying brand new items. That is my recommendation! Good luck with your search!

what app and phone are you using to connect to it? My P3A drone can fly fine and the RC works but I can’t get my iPhone 12 pro to connect to the DJI GO App, was the camera connect feature discontinued too?

I use the DJI GO with the iPhone 15 pro max. Also used the 13 pro max with no issues. I’m sure the iPhone 12 should work fine too. I did have some issues with certain usb cables though and it was quite puzzling and frustrating. I finally realized that it was indeed the cable and when I tried another cable it worked fine. Not sure if that will be your solution but you should definitely try it. Let me know how that works.

I do not believe a phantom 4 would be compatible with a phantom 3 controller. I’m pretty sure that it is not possible.

When I first bought this drone in 2026 I bought a generic hard case, similar to a Pelican case, with wheels from Amazon. It was about $120. I still have the case but it’s basically in storage since I rarely take this drone away from home to fly. The newer folding drones are so much easier to carry even with a hard case. I believe there are still backpack style cases made for the Phantom 4 or 3 from Amazon. That might be a better choice. Hope this helps. If you have more questions please let me know.

Hey, am I the only one having trouble keeping with the connecting USB iPhone charger to the 3 professional ? Do you need a strong voltage cord?

Thanks for watching and sorry to hear about your issue with the cord. I have not experienced the trouble that you are having. I typically use a 12” usb-a to Lightning cord purchased on Amazon. Sometimes I use a regular Apple Lightning cord that came with my iPhone. I don’t recall having any connection issues in the past. I’m sure you have already tried it but if not just swap cables and try different ones. Good luck with it and let me know if you find a solution!

Also, maybe the female usb slot on the controller has gotten dirty. Maybe take a q-tip with some rubbing alcohol and clean it out.

I have the phantom 3 standard but when I go up very fast the voltage drops from one cell and if I continue going up it goes back to home. The voltage is usually color yellow or red. Do you think the battery is not good anymore? Or is there a way to fix it

No way to fix since these batteries are sealed. Personally I don’t take chances with the flight batteries in my drones. Last thing you want is your drone falling out of the sky. If you have any doubt about this battery I recommend replacing it with a new one. Amazon has them for around $70-80. What are your thoughts?

Do you have the DJI Go app installed on your phone or tablet? Then you will need a usb-c or Apple Lightning cable to connect phone and controller.

Yes been had it installed..I stopped flying years ago.. Had the original app DJI Go 4.. But it doesn't work anymore! But I night this drone off another person Monday, they couldn't get it link either! Plus the app isn't showing in my WiFi

The DJI GO app is what you need for the phantom 3 Pro, not the GO4. Have you tried that?

Are you using an Android phone? If so you may try to download the app from the DJI website.

4k up to 30fps. 1080p up to 60. 1/2.3” cmos sensor - not very good compared to current DJI drones. It’s an antique but I still love flying this one though.

@@DJIDudeX2011old sounds great! But keep in mind that the Pantoms have been discontinued by DJI and the technology is pretty old now. Also, you will need to buy it on the used market. You should at least consider spending a little more money on a DJI Mini 2SE or even a Mini 3. But if you do decide to buy a Phantom they are still good drones and will still shoot pretty decent video and photos. Either way, I wish you and you brother all the best and happy flying!

He probably uses the Phantom 4 with RTK. Looks very similar to the Phantom 3 but has lot more capabilities. Thanks for watching!

Not unless I fly 1,500 feet or so away. Then the transmission gets pretty weak. But that’s to be expected with the older drones. Otherwise the video transmission works ok.

My phantom 3 pro wont even go into camera feed everytime I try to connect my phone to controller there's no camera feed 😢😢

The first and easiest thing I recommend to do is try a different usb cable. I’ve had this happen before and by changing cables it fixed the problem. Let me know if that works.
