I like pocket 1 & 2 , its compact. Like a makeup brush or a handheld trimmer ( cylindrical ). Easy to carry n use. Can be easily concealed. Perfect for introvert. Or someone who dont want attention drawn. Just buy a backpack clip. Clip in onto your backpack strap and enjoy. Use mobile phone to rotate/record/capture whatever pocket sees.

Excellent review! Just two questions: 1) how low the shutter speed has to be set in order to lost the stabilization? 2) The higher the speed the better the stabilization? I'm looking for a camera for real state so it has to be stable specially to absorb that bouncing when walking

I've just discovered you and am I glad I did! You're such a cool lady and you make tech stuff interesting! I have an Action 2 and I have just bought the GoPro Hero 11. The GoPro just feels more robust and I love the 8x7 sensor which gives you so much more choice when editing, and also what platform you want to export it to. I see you have a drone too. I have a Mini 3 Pro which I love too. Get Vid! 🙂

Currently have Hero 7 and pocket 2 creator combo but looking at streamlining the amount of gear I travel with on top of my camera, lenses and drone. Hey 👋🏼. Waiting desperately the Pocket 3 !! Pocket 2 is still my favorite camera over the Action family for multiple aspects : You almost always see the screen (even if too small) when filming under weird angles, which is not the case with any actioncam as screen is fixed / you never know when Rocksteady or any other electronic stab is going to mess your shot due to low shutter speed and use of ND filters is almost restricted to static shots. No problem on Pocket 2. / carrying a power bank is not a big deal for me as finally it doesn’t take more space than 3 extra batteries (and it often cost less !). Image rendering looks more like a classic camera. On Action 3, angle is wider and you feel the actioncam style immediately. Many people expect the Pocket 3 with bigger sensor (me too) removable battery and waterproofing, but I would like also more modes on the gimbal side as « real » gimbal have, to push the concept at 100%. Wait and see…

Hi Tamara, thing with the Pocket 2 is that DJI has never really considered firmwaring it to the max as it did with Osmo Action, which is a bit of a shame as i love it but it feels dated now not because of the specs but the decisions of DJI. Keep on posting

Sadly I sold my Pocket 2 because I wasn’t using it very much. Always worried about the weather and durability. Ended up going with the Osmo Action and Insta 360x3. Looking forward to seeing the Pocket 3 with a bigger sensor and some weatherproofing. The new Action cameras have great stability so that makes up for the advantage of a Pocket 2 in good light.

They seem to be different cameras. The DJI is good if you want to do a lot of face time while the GoPro is more general purpose and durable. Keep up the good work 👏

Like I said in this video, it’s over two years old but it’s still a brilliant camera and the video quality is better than the H11, but for my workflow the H11 has been better for me more recently.

If you care mostly about video quality, then GoPro 11. The features available with GoPro Labs firmware simply leaves all competition in the dust, by far. It's not even close :)

Tamara, what do you think would be better for vlogging / family travel stuff - ZV1 WITH a gimbal (zhiyun crane m2 or dji rs3 mini) OR a go pro hero 11. Currently here where I live, I can get the zv1 with the gimbal in 2nd hand - used market for around the same price as a brand new go pro 11. Whuddya think? 🤔

Personally would recommend the ZV over the GoPro if good condition is verifiable (and you're not going underwater). That's an incredible deal. Of course it would be particular to your use case. GoPro for sheer mobility, ease of use, weather/waterproof and ruggedness. ZV-1 for superior image quality, 'cinematic' shallow depth of field and being very practical in low light (1" sensor at f/1.8), along with other features like a built-in ND filter, picture profiles, zebras, fast AF, 'showcase' mode, much better display.

Very interesting TG! Yes, the footage from the Hero11 looks great. But you know why I sent back my camera (reliability issues). I've ended up ordering the Action 3 as I have a commission now that I need it for, and the X3 can't do slow-mo in 4K. As I do shoot in low light, and because of the problem with the Hero 11 trying to straighten bends in the road, it's a definite NO from me, and the Pocket 2 is still my 'grab it' camera because it's just so easy, especially with the handle and mic. But yes, really looking forward to the Pocket 3. Good luck for Malta!

Yes it’s possible to adjust the EV if shooting in auto exposure

That is exactly the case! The pocket 2 had no more firmware updates and on daylight with many different dark areas (darker skins or objects, shadows, darker streets with blue sky...) you should record with -0.6 EV. You can see here that her face is too bright and the sky blown out.

Is there activation in gopro hero 11 like DJI products has? or does it work out of the box? You can anyway manually update firmware. I just noticed in Amazon DE that all 1 star points (13% of total) that the reason for 1 star was the activation and smartphone requirements. Just thinking is it totally worth for DJI lack 1300 sells out of the 10 000 just because they dont get rid of the activation process.. 13% is huge complaint and that was the reason for returning the camera. I was going to buy Action 3 but I have a feeling that I will end up to get Hero 11. I already have Hero 6 that still works without problems.

I see there are no any activation for GoPros. It works out of the box. Can be updated manually via memory card. GoPro 11 is my next action cam after Hero 6. Also that is good for my winter activities with Enduro batteries.

I only shoot in 60fps if I'm going to slow the footage down later. Otherwise 24fps or 25fps looks more natural to watch we're used to seeing.

I do a lot of traveling and am always carrying a lot of super heavy backpacks that are difficult to pull out and use at a moments notice. I like the simplicity and quickness of being able to vlog quickly and catch more of the trip in a vlog style. Any recommendations? I’m in airports alot and like to be discreet while filming. They’re both great for vlogging, but if you’re gonna be filming indoors a lot I’d definitely go with the Pocket 2 over the H11, as it does better in low light and with the gimbal, stabilisation won’t be an issue like it would be for the H11 in low light. The P2 is also a bit more discreet as you don’t need to attach any extra accessories like you would have to if you used the H11. Plus with the Creator Combo you have that wireless transmitter too.

Surely it depends on what your main use is ? They are very different cameras. Pocket has the benefit of stability in all light levels. GoPro is waterproof. GoPro is also focus free ? In reality you should need both

@@TamaraGabrielUK I’m absolutely new to actual video making but the fact that I’m in a unique part of the world at the moment means I want to document it better. I have so far considered the GoPro 11 the creator edition one. I just liked how you used it in your video showing the different ways to manipulate it into what ever you wanted. I liked the battery life on it, I also liked the fact that you pointed out the flaws like no extension on that particular model. The reason why I’m considering that one is because I do have DJI microphones so perhaps those two would pair up nicely. I’m binge watching all the ones with the camera I’m thinking of getting right now😂 you have such a lovely way of explaining everything that this actually will be the channel that decided the camera my channel will use for the rest of the year at least. So cool.

would you say that the gopro is less reliable though? like it freezes, locks up or lags and you need the occasional battery pulls, or is it not a problem with the hero 11?

I’m trying to figure out what I want to do for a POV camera. The Pocket 2 is great for BTS but it’s not convenient strapped to your chest. I think I definitely want a GoPro or Action 3 for POV. Just gotta justify spending that amount on it

Yeah either of those action cameras will be great for POV. I constantly use the H11 for POV over the Action 3 because I find the image quality to be better.

@@TamaraGabrielUK I bought a lumix camera for street photography and the shutter locked up on me. I’m gonna see if I can exchange it for the A3 or H11. I wanted to stay in the DJI family as it would be easier to blend the different videos but if the quality is that much better I might go H11. I’ll just use that program you use to blend the different cameras color science

Yeah if you go with the H11 FilmConvert Nitrate will be great to use. It’s a shame about the Lumix.

Yes, I still use the GoPro. They are still better than other action/small camers. They have some minor flaws, but what doesn't.

The pocket 2 had no more firmware updates and on daylight with many different dark areas (darker skins or objects, shadows, darker streets with blue sky...) you should record with -0.6 EV. You can see here that her face is too bright and the sky blown out.

I own both these cameras and I total agree with you, DJI to me is losing in credibility in most of there products, Even there drones in which are dominating the market are absolutely fantastic BUT until you fly the EVO 2 pro makes the DJI top of the range drones just seem average ,GOPRO cameras will always have the edge on many competitors .

I had a DJI pocket 1 which had Reboot issue. Constantly reboot. which lost my confidence. But i bought an action 3 recently

I hate the super tiny screen of Pocket 2. In bright sunlight you can barely see any thing, suddenly I found myself recording the sky. Using GoPro 10 (in my case) is another world, another class of camera. I love GoPro in every aspect.

My H10 overheated once on a hot day, but hasn’t again. And I’ve had no issues with the H11.

Thanks for the video! I'm between the Osmo Action 3, Hero 11, Osmo Pocket 2 & Insta 360 X3 😝 So Either I Buy a Action 3 + Osmo Pocket 2 or Hero 11 Creator kit or a 360 X3.. So hard.. lol I do dirtbike videos, vlog content and some stuff for boating companies. I used the ZVE10 so far but its not waterproof and not really the run and gun type thing I need. Would love to hear your opinion on these options. Must say the X3 is quite versatile, but when it comes to shooting al day, swopping batteries is a nice option. Cheers SONIX69

No problem. The battery life of the OA3 is hard to beat, but the quality of the H11 is the best of the action cameras. If you need something waterproof I wouldn’t bother with the P2. The X3 is great for the reframing aspect and ease of filming but the video quality isn’t as good at the OA3 or H11. Pocket 2 has the best video quality, but again isn’t waterproof and also no removable battery.

It comes down to you and your budget really. Pocket 2 has the superior video quality and OA3 has the longest battery life. Though with the Creator Edition with the GoPro then battery life is better. It depends if you’d prefer to have one camera setup or two. If you’re gonna have to keep taking the GoPro out of the Media Mod and off the Volta when you’re doing stuff that requires a more rugged camera without accessories attached then I’d go with the P2 and OA3 combination for convenience.

The clear and stable video, the night light shooting blinded me for some time - but then I realised that as a family vacation shooter this camera is USELESS for me if it does not offer infinite focus. If I cannot get the subject and the surroundings ALL in focus that defeats the whole concept of vacation shooting. - the bokeh effect is more of a hindrance than of benefit. Lucky I stopped just short of making payment for it.

Wish I had watched your video before i bought the pocket 2, the screen size on the pocket 2 is awful and the resolution at daylight sun and at low light its nothing, regret buying the pocket 2, Got gopro 7 black and 11 black, will be selling my pocket 2. Thanks for the video

Pocket 2 is really good, but now stabilization on action cameras is so good that you doesn't need gimbal anymore.

Yeah, you only need the gimbal if your shutter speed drops which happens in low light or when you use ND filters.

Doesn't GoPro fake dynamic range with some "HDR" processing? Pretty sure it does, it often looks like it has much greater dynamic range than FF cameras, haha

@@TamaraGabrielUK Maybe you could help me out. I travel all over the world but the company I work for just asked me if I could also start vlogging all of our trips. I currently use the 1DX Mark iii, but I need something that I can take out and start shooting at a moments notice. We’re are always in airports so I’m always carrying heavy equipment. Would you recommend anything else that maybe I’m missing? I just need to be very quick and get very good footage. Money is not an option, I just need the best for what I’m trying to do. Any thoughts on how you might be able to help me or what you might personally choose to use if you were in my position?

Just wondering why Japan companies are not making Pocket style gimbal cameras. They make mirrorless and many other hi quality products and we have to use Chinese spy products. Small mechanical gimbal is must for me but DJI products do not last long. In 2-3 years products seen their life. I have camcorder from Sony from 2010. It is very well build and everything works still after 13 years. Same with Canon my 550D EOS camera works without any problem and build quality is excellent. Sony has made even drones and cars. They really should have market for small gimbal cameras they are anyway sensor kings. But meh, have to use Pocket 2.

The biggest differences between the H10 and the H11 is that the H11 has 10-Bit colour which makes colour grading easier, and that 8:7 aspect ratio is really useful if you want to shoot both horizontally and vertically. There’s also the new HyperView fov. Other than those big differences there’s not much reason to upgrade from the H10 to the H11 because they’re very similar otherwise.
