Great video and beautiful footage.. looking into getting a gimbal setup for Komodo which I’ve been rockin handheld. Thinking RS2, Tilta advanced ring grip, and some sort of follow focus system… which would you recommend for pulling focus (w/o AC)? I was considering Tilta nucleus nano powered from Dtap.

Also I believe the carbon fiber amplified the micro jitters a lot more as well

Yeah I just feel like that side bracket helps and also gives me more confidence that the weight I put on it will keep it secure

@@LeeZavitz yeh man… I sold mine the next day. The pistol grip works amazing for me , but I waned the advanced ring to replace my ronin M. Dual grip. But it’s a fail for me. I think I’m going to try your build… it makes sense👍

Hey Lee! This is a great video, and the new one you did for the RS3 Pro. One question, what rod and attachment do you have to your camera so that you can put the titla nucleus on?

Depends on what camera I’m using. If it’s my Komodo I’m just using a nato to 15mm rod clamp to the side of the cage. If I’m using my a7siii I also have a cage on it same idea except it’s not a nato clamp it’s just a 15mm clamp screwed to the cage. And for rods I’m using carbon fibre smallrig 6” rod

Get a D-Tap to Nucleus Nano Motor cable from Tilta - you will get much better torque and be able to skip the USB battery. In fact, gives pretty much same torque as Nucleus M that way

Do you know if the stabilization provided by the Sony A&sii including the IBIS and Active Stabilization is additive to the stabilization provided by gimbals like the DJI RSC2 or RS2 ? Thank you.

I find it looks way smoother. I think it’s because both arms are locked and can hold it more consistent vs one handle. Plus you can hold it for longer periods of time IMO

hello, nice tutorial! I have a question, maybe its obvious but im new with the ronin, when Im going to change something in motor parameters, the ronin starts to act weird like, starts doing noise and it says that there is an error so I need to calibrate, when I calibrate, it goes back to the same settings as before, maybe im missing something but Idk what

If I want to use a 1st AC pulling focus with the handle grip on my DJI Focus motor, I am left with only one handle grip for myself. So what handle grip product do I need to buy to replace the one my focus puller is using? Are there options beside buying another $200 USD grip handle for the ring?

If I’m pulling focus use the Tilta nucleus hand grip that clamps onto the ring. Otherwise I have an AC that pulls focus wirelessly

I just thinking to switch from ronin M to RSC2 Just thinking about switch from ronin M to RS2, but one handheld gimbals just sucks in my opinion. Tilta Dual Handle looks promising

Yeah it takes this gimbal and makes it professional. It’s too bad DJI never made a Ronin M mkii. I would have bought it. The Ronin 2 is too big and expensive for what I need

I had the same problem with the Ronin M. I used the original Ronin 1 for years and was in turmoil when it finally broke because DJI stopped making them. I would’ve bought the ronin 2 but it was so damn expensive. I got the ronin m and hated it the last 2 years I used it. Finally the ronin m broke and gave me an excuse to buy the RS2. I love the RS2

@@LeeZavitz I agree. It’d be nice if they’d make one where the controls aren’t all right in the center of mass. I’ll probably end up getting the tilta just for that reason.

You could always take the ronin m mount off and just get a clamp. I only did the plate because i assumed it would be and easy way to do it. Even then nothing lined up quite right.

@@LeeZavitz Thanks for the reply Lee. Yeah, I did quite some research yesterday to figure out an alternative. You´re right about a clamp of course. My thought was that the original Ronin-M mount might be locked better to the ring than for example a smallrig 25mm rod clamp would with the added weight of the whole gimbal setup. But I think I found a way to use the original mount without the cinemilled plate. Another question. What v-mount capacity do you use and how long does it power the gimbal & the camera?

How can you focus with that gimbal though? Komodo Autofocus?

For that test footage I was just using autofocus on the komodo. But I normally use the Tilta nucleus M. And the Tilta hand grip if I’m pulling focus or an AC wirelessly pulling focus for me
