Great video as usual, enjoy your channel a lot. One note though, you don't have to use the phone at all to activate the Gesture Mode. You can just turn it on and double tap the power button to engage the function.

What's cool is that you can launch in a house and fly out the patio door off the balcony or a window to the outside. I ordered the Combo in White. White still ships 6/15. Would be nice to have replaceable tops to change colors.

Excellent overview guys! Love your whole light hearted approach and the fun you have doing it, which is after all what we should all be doing in this great hobby of ours. No point taking anything too seriously. :-) The Spark does look like a fabulous little drone, and until I saw it against your hand and next to my beloved Mavic Pro (which has never looked huge before!), I had no real conception of just how tiny this little baby really is! It gives you a new appreciation of the specs and a grudging respect for just how much DJI managed to fit into this tiny package. I don't regret just buying my Mavic Pro (which out here in Australia really hurt the old hip pocket!) but I can't help but wonder now if I'd have made the same choice if the Spark had been available then. I suspect there will be some poaching of sales to the Spark from the Mavic despite the obvious difference in capabilities. For many, the Spark may just be enough and then some!

Amazing review, we just need to see the controller now. And how does it compare to the mavic controller. Also, as you've said, selfie drone comparisons. Looking forward for those vids. ☺️😏

Since you guys are from Europe. When you get the remote controller, could you test out the maximum distance it can fly with the remote control? I'm interested if it can reach 2km or just 500m on the CE standard. Because if only reaching 500m then it's really really bad.

do you think the controller will have the same controls as the app, meaning able to control the camera. never owned a dji quadcopter so no idea what the controller can do. I have one of those toy selfie drones and had a hard time using my phone to fly it.

great review! Love the castle and location. What city and country where you during this video shoot? I really like the small size and easy to use. I make travel vlogs and this would be perfect to take on trips with me. obviously other more expensive drones have better video quality and some better video features but for my vlogs I don't need perfect video just something crisp and able to get some good Arial videos of where I'm visiting. the shot where you ascend above the castle wall to reveal the city looked great on this small drones camera. sure I'd love it to have a 4k camera but honestly I vlog mostly in 1080 on a Samsung s7 edge which can so 4k but 4k files are so large and slow down my editing computer so I don't video in 4k that much yet. anyway cheers and thanks for making the video. DJI should pay you for making it as I like many other people will seriously consider buying one after watching your review. cheers!

Ordered mine during the NY launch, hopefully it arrives by the 3rd week of June.

Can it still be used to shoot aerial photo? Can the gimbal shoot straight to the ground? The flight speed and flight time is a bit concerning, does it have enough time to take several aerial foto at 100 meter height before run out battery? Thank you.

Thanks very much for posting this very informative video of the new DJI Spark. I note that many drone pilots are into the "Follow" feature found on most high end drones. I have watched several videos of this new drone, and unfortunately there has been very little focus on the "Active Track" FOLLOW function. This leaves me to wonder if the "Follow" function of this new offering may not compare well to that of the Mavic Pro or P4. Obviously this new DJI product demonstrates several new and advanced bells and whistles, but it would be nice to see it's "follow function" demonstrated. Does anyone know if the Spark can adjust altitude when in active track mode? for snowboarding for example.. Mavic cant and it was a real bummer in my opinion.

With the hand gestures, does it record from takeoff or only pictures It would be cool to make a pointing rotate gesture and it either does a slow 360 degree or 180 degree horizontal rotation. Imagine if you go up a mountain and want a panorama...?

Is there really a gesture command to turn on the video? I tried the 45 deg arm angle but it won't work. The follow me mode is useless if it doesn't shoot videos by itself, meaning not using the RC or smart phone.

Nice, it's decent. Wish it was pocketable like Dobby. Mavik Pro's footprint isn't much bigger or is some dimensions (width) smaller than Spark, so both fit in a backpack well. Its Mavik Pro for this guy till DJI has a pocket drone.

Stuttering in the video. I wonder if that would be due to lack of processing power or digital image stabilization not doing a good job. Can the digital stabilization be turned off? Would be a great test to turn it off and make a couple of clips with panning shots (high detail subject of course)

it seems good, but more than 250 gram is a deal breaker for me under the stupid Canadian drone rules.
