Historically done by men, a brave young girl is now taking on her father’s legacy. Hers is a breathtaking story of empowerment and evolving tradition, set in the stunning landscapes of the Altai Mountains. Captured with the DJI Ronin and Inspire 2 by the DJI film crew.

I’m a Mongol, and I’ve met the Kazakhs that live in our westernmost province, they are a great people who are very similar to us in traditions but also maintain their own culture. Thank you for sharing this story

I am kazakh, I live in China, and nearby Mongolia, I know there are many kazakh people live in Mongolia just like us, we didn't born in Kazakhstan, but we are still kazakh no matter what others say, and I am proud to be a kazakh, I have my own language, own culture, own spirit .

Its amazing! Thank you Mongolia for saving our KAZAKH / Hunnic pure culture. Eagle hunting is ancient Kazakh tradition from Atilla time.Eagle its symbol of Kazakhs you can see it on flag of Kazakhstan. Prod to be KAZAKH.

It is so cool, Aisholpan))) I am from Kazakhstan, and watching traditions from my childhood is..... So proud of you, thank you for the movie. I also loved living urban life with thousands of horses near mountains. Playing nomadic games used to be incredible. There were many eagles in my hometown, even we could find some wild eagles. Extremely missed it. A lot have changed//

Beautiful film! Love the narration and the shots are wonderfully composed. Mongolia is such a stunning country and the Kazakh culture is so fascinating! My time spent with Botei and his family were some of the most amazing experiences of my life. Watching this brought back a lot of really wonderful memories, so thank you! :)

Tears in my eyes, goosebumbs everywhere... such a magnificent landscape and such majestic animals. Always so impressed by these cultures still living the old ways (also, that language is beautiful too)... Mongolia was already up there, but now this place is definitely on my bucket list for places and people to photograph.

Greetings from Kazakhstan! Thank you for amazing video. I am proud of Aisholpan, the eagle huntress, but it is also tradegy of my people. Some of them like Aisholpan's grandparents were forced to leave motherland many years ago. Thank you again for such a great film.

Hi, it looks like you guys had an amazing time! Great story and footage but just an FYI that we've had several pilots here in Colorado flying their drones near birds of prey and the raptors generally do not like the drones. I use my Phantom for landscape and wildlife stills but now avoid birds because a giant Golden eagle tried attacking a Phantom that came too close to it's nest. The bird's legs are it's primary hunting tool and were damaged when it attacked the propellers. The park rangers have stated that they would like to see them banned from state parks because of that. Let's all just make sure that we don't fly intrusively into wildlife.

Mark Steinke This is a great point. We have a few areas here in Washington that I refuse to fly in (even though clients always ask for footage from few of those locations) during specific times of the year. There are birds of prey there nesting and the last thing I would never want to do is disturb their habitats or put them in danger. This video was incredible and I am sure that the team was VERY cautious when protecting the birds that were Talent. As drone operators, especially us professionals we need to make sure that we hold the upmost safety and respect for Mother Nature when capturing beautiful footage with these incredible tools we use. Safe flight to ya....

Corvus Eye Productions Thanks and agreed. One of the most painful things that can ever happen to a bird of prey is to lose their hunting tools and slowly starve to death.

wippo76 Thanks. I understand that they're well trained but it's important for the crew to let all pilots know that drones should never be used near wildlife. No matter how well trained these raptors are, they are wildlife and not pets. I have been noticing some troubling piloting from Rookie pilots who don't understand that you never, ever want to fly near a bird's nest, young offspring or hunting territory. I don't want to give wildlife managers and park rangers a reason to eliminate our drones. There's no valid reason to ever be flying near birds.

The music is emotional, soulful because, kazakhs have allways fight for their homeland,.. blood and sweat. And our music, songs is dedicated (devote) to the motherland. Thats why, the music touches the soul. And songs fiiled with patriotism and past events. Because kazakhs was very warlike, militant and ancestors gave their soul for the motherland (sorry for my English, used google translator 🙂).

Sale Em In Otto Bell's film The Eagle Huntress no mention is made of the eagle hunting culture being Kazakh! Likely because the secondary agenda of the filmmaker was to promote tourism to Western Mongolia.

Though, lots of hints about kazakh nomadic culture and traditions. It's obvious. Altai Mountains itself are quite a legendary place in nomadic history.

She's a Kazakh girl who lives in Mongolia, and spoke in Kazakh language. The Kazakh language belongs to Turkic languages. Kazakhs are descendants of the Huns, Golden Horde, Sakas (The Scythians). Religion: Islam

The scene of men riding with their eagles... feels like a scene from lord of the rings. The Eagle Hunters of the north. Where bond between man and eagle means no Dragon dear to roam.
