I've been going through a lot of older Wiz and Curren$y recently. Something about the music being released recently just isn't doing it for me like this used to. I read a lot of KZfaq comments because you find some hidden gems with other peoples thoughts and I see a lot of "nostalgia, this brings me back to high school, reminds me of my friends or better times." I think I'm finally starting to understand a bit more clearly why my dad holds onto The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elton John. Just reminds us all of some of the best times of our lives. Music is beautiful like that, the best kind of art.

Though you're right about how music impacts us based on a certain times in our lives and the memories that come with it, I also genuinely believe the quality of music today is subpar compared to 15+ years ago. I had my teenage years in the 00s and I think that was a great era of music, but the 90s was probably THE greatest era in terms of musical quality and variety in the music industry. I also like a lot of music from the 80s, 70s, 60s and even before... I think today music is too loud (if that makes sense)... there's too much going on, not easy to the ear
