Also, there is an irresponsible player who tried to sneak into an Australian tournament while sick with covid-19. As much people think that this was a history changing moment! It is not! history was already on his course, because novak was al ready dominant since the start of the year, and Roger did not enter this match being favorite, I think Roger was closer to stop history from happenin on his track! and most important, post to this match novak only claim 1 slam per year until 2015! so I don't think this is a relevant win as much fans believe!

Funny that the shot was at 3:33 on the match clock too, halfway to 666. That shot was basically demonic in its effect. When he broke to make it 6-5 in the fifth set, one of the commentators even said, "he's possessed"

True. As a Federer fan, it was hard to see him call Novak "lucky". Credit should be given where it's due, although disappointment after a loss is natural. Lost a little bit of respect for him that day.

That post match interview turned me off of Federer forever. He probably didn’t deserve that given the conditions and the fact that we’re all human but I was aghast at how little credit he gave Djokovic especially considering the respect that Djokovic had given Federer up to that point. It made me think of Roger as a sore loser and I started rooting against him at that point forward hoping that Djokovic and Nadal would displace him in the GOAT race. Never thought it would actually happen and I’ve grown to like Roger again as he aged and became more humble about his place in tennis history. At the end, he was an ATG playing in an era of two GOATs both of whom deserve to be ahead of Roger.

Rafa is a one-dimensional player who thrives on one surface and gets exposed on every other surface, and he has committed countless acts of gamesmanship such as medical timeouts, delaying tactics, and summoning opponents to the net to lecture them about their grunting (the irony). Add to this that he fakes injuries to avoid having to face his two biggest rivals outside of clay. Especially Novak, as in the last decade he has not won a single set against him on hard court.

@@viksinha5410 I don’t disagree with you. Novak’s resume is clearly superior to Rafa but to Rafa’s credit, he has won eight non French Open Grand Slams which is no small feat. That said, my point was more really that there were two players better than Roger who eventually landed ahead of him and I agree that Novak is the singular GOAT. Given that they’re tied for the GS lead, I try to be a little more neutral in my comments waiting for the day when Djoker is ahead by all measures!

To lose against someone like that, it’s very disappointing because you feel like he was mentally out of it already. Just gets the lucky shot at the end, and off you go.” "Confidence? Are you kidding me? I mean, please. Some players grow up and play like that ... and they all just start slapping shots. I never played that way. I believe hard work's going to pay off, because early on maybe I didn't always work at my hardest. For me, this is very hard to understand. How can you play a shot like that on match point? It was a lucky shot though. Djokovic had nothing to lose, so of course he was going to try an all-or-nothing massive shot because Federer was about to win. He stuck his racket out and hoped for the best because that's all he could do. Great shot, but fortunate because it was just instinct. Federer was right to be annoyed.

On that day, a legend was born, a young kid from Serbia facing 2 match points against one of the best servers with a hostile crowd to boot pulled out the best return in tennis history! the rest is history. Fast forward to 2023 and the goat Nole is still getting it done, still performing at peak levels beating much younger opponents cementing his greatness...........notice how much harder Nole was ripping those groundstrokes, especially that forehand those last four games...
