I personally think that what this man is trying to demonstrate here is that, we have to start somewhere if we so desire to be self-reliant. Most ideas are laughed at at the beginning. I greatly admire this man's tenacity and vision. Now, while his contraption may not have been seen by many actually flying, I believe the man has demonstrated, at the least, a keen interest and knowledgeable ability though he has not had formal training in aircraft engineering. This should count for something. Those that have had the training are busy putting this daring man down instead of supporting him to refine and perpetuate his idea. This is a great man indeed. As Zimbabweans, we pride ourselves in education but we may not be able to say the same in the application of this knowledge...at least in our own country. I think such ideas as Mr Chingoma's should be respected and developed. We should learn to develop ideas and make technologies accessible and affordable for our communities. I would, however, like to see the helicopter fly under controlled conditions to gauge how far this man had gone and determine the substance of his claims. Otherwise, I would like to salute this man from the making of water pumps to attempting to construct a helicopter from a simple car engine. For many years his man has been treated unjustly. I remember people laughing at him way back when I was still at school when his helicopter came out on TV yet the man wanted to do a noble dream. He heart is pure he did not steak from anyone nor did he commit any crime but instead of being celebrated he was ridiculed and mocked.
