Some friends get jobs abroad, kids, getting married. I listen to the song on the plane after i signed my contract for becoming a pilot. Kind of smiled when i realized it went to something good after all this struggles and friends stay friends, the real ones i guess, there are up and downs but it is all about the experience, growth from mistakes and just to be happy in the life. I finished my first semester of college recently, came back to my home state for break and it’s not the same. I don’t know what I had expected, but I’m not a kid anymore. Most of my friends live out of state now for their colleges, and the few people I still have here are always busy with jobs and other responsibilities. I might be 18 and staying with my parents for the time being but the realization is sinking in that I’m going to have to leave soon and find my own thing to do in life. The scary thing is that I don’t know what I wanna do. Life just feels bland and overrated rn. I wonder if I’ll ever make anyone proud.

I held it in for so long. I had to. This is the only song that can get me to cry and let go. I’ve been listening to it on repeat all day, at the gym, in the car, at home, in bed. This reminds me of when i was 21/22 and I use to date this woman who's job use to let her stay in hotels round London, this was King's cross. I'd work night shifts she would work early mornings. This one night she fell asleep at like 10pm and we were staying at this fancy hotel in King's cross. I couldn't sleep so at like 2am on a July night in 2019 I was listening to this while skating round London at 2am in my tracksuit and vest with a bottle of aloe and my headphones in looking at the corner shop lights, the smell of summer grass at the front of this church graveyard as I skated past it and it was bliss.

I may be 21, but God do I really miss being 17, before my anxiety medication, losing my eye sight that required me to have two eye operations and contacts to see clearly, going to the hospital for my heart with afib, I was really just living life with positivity, having the time of my life in high school, getting ready for college, hanging out with friends, not having to worry about what would lie ahead of me. Now I sit here, as a completely different person, missing the better days, wondering if I'll pass through this confusing time of my life.

I think the meaning of the song is much more than depression. He is depressed and the only means escape he knows are his music, drugs and her. This sadness causes him so much pain (agony) that he can't even sleep and needs drugs for that too. Yung Lean has been at happier times when he felt like he was the shit and he felt majestic and unstoppable like a dragon but now that dragon is in agony. He sits and calmly watches horses running in the fields, instead of hunting, going wild and soaring to heights. To the point where he has become a recluse. He doesn't like to get out of the house much. Drugs help him to escape but he'd prefer her to help him. He can still hear her even though she is not there. Hence he resorts to drugs again. All this agony and drugs are making him stay in a hole (recluse) to the point where he is lonely and finds comfort with his furniture. Kites outside make him happy but then he is reminded of his agony and he becomes paranoid again.
