They say "never look back" but when it comes to the art of DJing, I can't help but periodically rummage through my old collection of VHS tapes and study how battle DJs like Aladdin connected with their audience and the very turntables they used to establish that connection. It's dudes of his ilk that laid the foundation for what us "Turntablists" do today.

WELL STEVE DEE ALREADY HAD THE BREAKDOWN-HE AND ALADDIN WERE ON THE SAME TOUR THE YEAR BEFORE ON THE DOPE JAM TOUR OF 1988-ALADDIN WAS WITH ICE-T AND STEVE WAS WITH DOUG E FRESH AND THE GET FRESH CREW.ALSO.STEVE WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN IN THAT BATTLE THAT NIGHT BUT DIDNT QUALIFY DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES CONCERNING HIS NEEDLES.HOWEVER HE STILL SHOWED UP AT THE BATLE.I KNOW FOR SURE BECAUSE I WAS THERE THAT COLD SATURDAY NIGHT WHERE IT OOK PLACE NEAR DELANCY STREET.

In order to take my DJ Skills & Styles or Advanced DJ Skills classes at The New School you have to be enrolled at the university as a student. I teach private lessons via Skype too though.

I AGREE-HE WOULD BE SO DOPE RITE NOW-THATS WHY WHEN I SAW HIM ON THE SCRATCHCON DVD.IT HURT MY HEART THAT HE WASNT THE SAME SKILL WISE LIKE HE WAS BACK IN THE LATE 80'S EARLY 90'S BUT HE IS STILL AROUND DOING MUSIC.

But i think it was also intentionally drunk like Aladdin sending a message of "im celebrating life after setting the pace for all the newer cats, and PAID MY DUES, cuz no matter how silly I'm about to get tonight, you all learned a piece of what you know, from me (and Joe Cooley: The King Of Scratch)".
